About this ebook
The search for love for Shelley and Martin, was written in the stars, maybe pre planned, pre destined. But to keep love lies a task in itself. The relationship they had was more than stable and happy. Maybe fate had another idea.

PROLOGUE
It was their fifth year anniversary, they were Soul mates, the perfect relationship, the one that other couples envied. Martin Noxas and his wife Shelley Noxas met under the strangest of circumstances, some may call it fate, some not as superstitious. Whatever the case these two individuals were inseparable unable to function without each other.
Shelley sat at the same table, in the old 50's diner, at the end of the street she used to live on. Ordered the same food as she did when she first met him, simply burger and fries with a chocolate shake, the same time, same date, a chilly 27Th of September 5.30pm. she wanted it to be perfect for him, hopefully role play out the same way they did when they first met. She clicked in two of the same song selection on the jukebox, a song called 'I don't know why I love you' by 'Clarence Frogman
Henry', just to make sure it was playing when he walked through the door.
Shelley's face beamed as she saw him walk around the same corner he did five years back, this time he was holding a bunch of red roses. He smiled at her, pointed at the roses then pointed at her. She giggled. There wasn't enough time for Shelley to absorb the happiness, with the sight of Martin, as her butterfly filled stomach, quickly turned to a sickly feeling, the song pouring from the Juke box seemed to slow down, everything around her seemed silent. Ten more yards and Martin would have been safely in the diner, if he would not have stopped earlier to help an elderly gentleman, or forgotten to bring flowers, having him return to his apartment, the list of sliding door scenarios, to prevent a moment from happening, was endless. The fact was Martins 'fate' if you my call it that, was taking place. He had taken a shotgun blast to his back, one that had been blasted from the owner of JUKE'S PAWN SHOP, as the door opened forcing out two assailants that had tried to rob the place.
Oh god no, please no.
Said a hysterical Shelley scrambling from the table knocking her shake and fries to the floor and dashing towards Martin, a group from the diner followed her as she slumped to the floor, wrapping her hands around martins neck. There was a pool of blood draining from his back, Martin's eyes were vacant.
He felt light and warm, almost weightless. A distant sound of paramedics invaded his hearing, the bright light that he was travelling towards was now tunnelling back from his vision, he felt a sharp pain as he entered the empty shell he had just left, Martin gurgled up blood, very faintly hearing Shelley in a fit of despair, the sounds slowly started to dissipate, once more he felt weightless, but only this time there was no bright light, but a quick darkness, like flicking off the switch that illuminates a room. The sense of pain evaporated.
Martin watched as his body was wheeled into the back of the paramedic vehicle, Shelley climbed inside, sobbing, as the doors to the vehicle shut. Sirens blazed as Martin watched it drive away.
CHAPTER ONE
Five years earlier
27 September 5.00pm.
On the first floor of West Tech industries, PLEATING MILTS office complex, Martin filed the last audit for the day and logged off from his computer, putting on his jacket he headed from his office out towards the lift to reception.
The receptionist Jenny, smiled at Martin as he passed, she hoped that maybe one day he might ask her on the date she always fantasised about.
Jenny, could you forward any office calls to my mobile, please, I'll be out of office the rest of the weekend.
Yes Martin, you going anywhere nice.
Said Jenny, with interest.
Just taking a little time out at the boat house.
Said Martin.
Well have a nice time.
Said Jenny, she wished she was going with him.
Martin made his way out of West Tech buildings, and over to his company car, that was parked on his well deserved spot, sign posted 'MARTIN NOXAS C.E.O." 10 Years working his ass off, got him the position, plus his extensive knowledge of accountancy.
He planned to spend the weekend relaxing and catching up on some of his writing, at his boat house far from the madding crowds, 25 miles from town. He hoped that this next piece would be a bestseller earning him enough money to quit his monotonously boring office job.
Martin enjoyed Fridays, he had a set routine, a little dinner at the stylish 50's diner then home for a night watching t.v. not very exciting, but Martin enjoyed his independence, he was 28 and he had been single now for the last three years. He had only had two relationships in his life, one that lasted two years, which came to a climatic end due to his partners drinking problems. The other two year relationship came to a sudden end when Martin came home to find
