About this ebook

One moment of recklessness will change their worlds

Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen–year–old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un–Breanna–like behavior puts her into a vicious cyber–bully's line of fire–and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life.

Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them–a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness–he knows it's time to step outside the rules.

And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him–one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.

I wanted to read Walk the Edge because I adore Katie McGarry, and even though motorcycle clubs haven't been my thing in the past, she certainly opened me up to it. They are legal in her books, and they are so tight, its a family and they really look out for one another. Of course, Razor, we met in the first book, and he is young, still in high school, but already in the MC. His mom passed away, and a detective is prowling around and asking him questions about what happened, and making Razor question what he thought he knew. The official story is an accident, but some think that it was suicide and Razor can't help but wonder about that, but the detective suggests it might be murder. I like Breanna, she is smart and she has a lot of responsibility with her family. She wants to go to a private school because she is already finished the hardest high school courses, but her family needs her at home. The family dynamics on both sides are pretty turbulent. Breanna has a large family and she feels left out with the siblings. She feels like they don't like her, and she is in the middle of the group of older siblings and being the sitter/caretaker sibling for the younger ones. They pick on her for her superb memory and call her a freak. As far as Razor, his dad had promised no other woman would spend the night and when that is violated, their trust is further fractured. I loved the chemistry and the inclusion of some of the characters that we met in the first book. The MC and trust is a big plot arch for Razor, and feeling included in her own family and understanding her place is Breanna's. The place of social media, the image of individuals, being who you are, and also the element of blackmail all showed the characters things about themselves and others. Breanna was put in a very precarious position, and I felt for her big time having to deal with that as well as her morals. Trying to understand and navigate the MC and their unique rules, exceptions and wrestling with how legal/different the reign of terror is. They have a rough reputation around town, some warranted and others not at all. And the women and girls that date or hang around them get a whole different rep. Overall, I loved the book and everything that kept it moving. Bottom Line: The characters, romance and everything I have come to expect from McGarry.

"The boy everyone sees but nobody knows is with the girl everyone knows but nobody sees."The sequel to Nowhere but Here, this YA entry is Razor's story. The night before senior orientation, he starts to see brainiac Breanna Miller in a new light. Breanna is the 5th of nine children and has been invisible to her family. At school, she is used for her intelligence. Determined to get out of the box she is in, she makes an unwise choice. Razor, a member of the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, tries to protect her. He wants to use her intelligence to help him figure out his mother's death eight years earlier, and she wants him to help her break out of her shell. Danger and violence, though, are behind every move they make.It was worth the wait for the sequel. Very good YA fiction. The ending was a little convoluted and messy, so I docked it half a star. I have to admit that when I found out this was Razor's story, I didn't think I would like it as much - Razor wasn't my favorite character from the first book. This one completely won me over, though. Can't wait for the next one!

I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I am so, so, so, so excited that I got this novel as an eARC!! The moment I saw it on NetGalley, I requested it like it was fashion going out of style!I have been looking forward to reading Razor's story since we met him in NBH, and I was totally not disappointed with how Katie McGarry slayed this novel! Razor is as reserved and serious as you remember, but when he is around Breanna, Razor starts to slowly chip away the ice in his heart. She is starting to warm him, and not because she is throwing herself. Instead, she is slowly becoming curious about the bad-boy, bike clubbing guy that Razor is. And Breanna. She has an interesting story, starting with her brain. I couldn't imagine being that smart that my brain literally wouldn't stop working. When she confessed everything to her older sister Clara about how she doesn't sleep and if she can't get a problem figured out it slowly eats her brain, I started tearing up!Also, don't even get me started on Breanna's family! They are jerks! Being #5 out of 9 kids is, first of all, insane, but also really crappy for her. Not being part of the "older" kids and always having to take care of the "younger" kids, she is literally in the middle and never gets a break! I'm extremely glad she decided to loosen up with Razor and do stuff for her own self rather than be a punching bag to half of siblings and be a mom to the other half. I wanted to punch Kyle so hard that he would re-think his terrible, evil ways. That jerk!I love this story line, I love this series so much! I love it more than the Pushing the Limits series, which I also really enjoyed! I already want the next one, but of course I won't get that for FOREVER!!! So I suppose I'll just have to wait patiently... well as patiently as I can be ;)So, so glad I got to read this early and I know fans will be loving every minute of this novel!

Told alternately from Razor's and Breanna's point of view, this story is a romance between two very likeable but very troubled characters. On the outside, shy, brilliant, and super-responsible Breanna doesn't have much in common with motorcycle club member and hotties Razor. To say that their worlds are different is a gross understatement. But on the inside both of them are struggling with trying to fit into their families.Breanna is the 5th of nine children in the Miller household. Both the older four and the younger four have formed their own cliques and Breanna doesn't fit into either. She also has an unusual brain in that she has a near-photographic memory and a compulsion to solve puzzles of all sorts. This makes her feel like a freak at school as she tries to hide what she can do.Razor is having trouble fitting in at the motorcycle club despite being made a full member when he turned 18. He knows his dad and his "brothers" are keeping secrets from him about his mother's death and has trouble trusting them. Since rumor has it that his mother's death was a suicide, Razor feels guilt that he wasn't enough to keep her living. When a detective offers some new information that his club brothers want to keep from him, Razor goes to Breanna for help.Razor isn't the first person who wants to use Breanna for help. One of the football stars is blackmailing her with seemingly intimate pictures of her with Razor to write his papers so that he will get a college scholarship. The pictures, if posted online, could easily ruin Breanna's reputation and wreck her future plans. This story was emotionally intense and I couldn't put it down. While I don't understand the appeal of motorcycle clubs, I could see how they were a family to Razor. I could also understand and sympathize with Breanna as she tries to find her own role in her family. This is also a good example of the perils of social media.Readers who want a romance that will keep them reading don't have to look past this book. It was an amazing story.

I hadn’t read the first Thunder Road novel and I can’t remember where this one came from. Unfortunately, due to the mature content and frequent use of profanity I won’t be putting this in my grade eight classroom; they’ll have to wait til high school to read this one or get their own copy. I say unfortunately because I think a lot of what happened to Breanna happens a lot earlier than we know. Using photos to shame someone, pressuring smart girls to help you cheat, gossiping and spreading rumours, going against your parents wishes... none of that is the sole domain of high school. I did really like Breanne’s solution to her problem though and I like her mental fortitude.

Breanna Miller and Thomas Turner both come from large families. “Bre,” as she’s known to her family and friends has eight brothers and sisters. "Razor" as Thomas is known in the Reign of Terror Motorcycle Club has all the members, which includes his father, and their wives and girlfriends as his family. Outside of being both seniors in the same high school in their small Kentucky town, Bre and Razor live in different worlds. Until a chance encounter after school brings them together and then blossoms into a romance. But a romance that they know they must never reveal to their families. As Shakespeare would put it, “Prodigious birth of love it is to me / That I must love a loathèd enemy.”McGarry’s writes a meticulously crafted teen romance. Walk the Edge is a defining example of the romantic suspense novel. It’s one-part heart-throbbing tension about what’s coming next and one-part heart-throbbing emotional and physical attraction between the lovers.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: I can’t express in words how much I completely loved this book. The romance was steamy, there was so much heart put into the story and I have never connected with a character so much before. Suffice to say you must all read this ASAP!Opening Sentence: There are lies in life we accept. The Review:Breanna is seventeen years old and she is determined to change the way people look at her. She has spent her life trying to go unnoticed so she didn’t attract unwanted attention. She is known as the shy smart girl that is totally responsible. But it is her senior year and she wants to finally break a few rules. While on her road to a good time she has a few unexpected run ins with a sexy member of the Reign of Terror that goes by the name of Razor. Razor is not someone Breanna would ever consider getting involved with but when she starts getting blackmailed by a fellow student she doesn’t know who else to turn to. The more Breanna gets to know Razor the more she realizes he is exactly what she needs in her life. The Reign of Terror is Razors life and he can’t imagine ever not being a part of the club. But when questions about his mother’s death start to arise and it is implied that the Terror may have had something to do with it, Razor starts to question if he can trust the men he has called brothers his whole life. Were they in some way responsible for her death? No one will give him a straight answer, so he turns to Breanna for help. She is a smart and attractive girl, but Razor knows that he will never be good enough for a girl like her. She is too perfect to fit into his messed up life, but sparks fly as they spend more and more time together. Can they make a relationship work or are their lives just too different? It is almost scary how much of myself I saw in Breanna. From her home life to her insecurities. It was basically me as a teenager. I also came from a bigger family too and it was always a struggle for me to know where I fit in with my family. I did have amazing parents who were always there for me but it didn’t stop some of those misplacement feelings from sinking in. I also really struggled with being shy and scared to show who I really was to other people. While reading Breanna’s story it brought back so many memories and caused me to feel so many emotions both good and bad. Because I connected with her character on such a deep level, I honestly felt like a proud parent when she finally decided to step out of her shell and do what she should have done all along. She is such a strong, intelligent young woman and I feel like her story is one that will inspire and help all different kinds of girls. No matter what your situation is on some level you can relate to her story. In so many ways she is just a normal girl experiencing a normal life, but I think that’s why her story was so touching to me. I don’t think there is such a thing as normal or at least not everyone has the same normal. If you can’t tell by my spill, I was a HUGE Breanna fan and I can honestly say I have never connected with another character like I did with her.Razor captured my heart from hello. I was instantly intrigued by him when I met him in the first book in the series, but actually reading his story and being in his head made me fall head over heels for him. He seemed so broken and watching him struggle tore at my heart strings. I loved how protective he was and the way he learned to open his heart to others was beautiful. He has a sad story but he eventually learns from his tragedies and the man he becomes is someone to be proud of. Also, the fact that he is dead sexy with killer abs helps too. His relationship with Breanna is perfection. They have undeniable chemistry and great sexual tension. But they also make each other better people by being together. Razor is just one of those guys you can’t help but love!Walking the Edge contained so much heart and it had a truly inspiring message. I’m not always the biggest contemporary fan and I generally have to be in the mood for it, but once I started reading this I just couldn’t put it down. This is one of those stories you want to give to every teenager that has self confidence issues and show them that it’s ok to be scared and insecure but don’t hide who they really are. The world can be a cruel place, but it also has so many amazing things to offer and every person no matter how different has something to offer as well. I adored this story and I felt SO many emotions while reading it. I was a fan of the Pushing the Limit series by Katie McGarry but words cannot express how much I have loved her Thunder roads series. Both books were so amazing and I seriously can’t wait for Violet and Chevy’s story!!! If you like motorcycle club books, or if you like romance, or if you just want an amazing read, pick this one up ASAP!!!Notable Scene:“I’ll tell you what,” he continues. “If you want wild—if you want a kiss that breaks the rules, I’ll give you one, but not here, not now.”I think my heart exploded. Razor of the Reign of Terror—the guy all the girls have dreamed about for years—has offered to kiss me. “When?”“When I say.” His lips edge up, sending a thrill through my bloodstream. “If you have the nerve.”“I’ll have it,” I exclaim.FTC Advisory: Harlequin Teen provided me with a copy of Walk the Edge. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Walk the Edge is a poignant, delightful and thrilling novel that will grab the readers attention right from the start.Breanna is a very responsible, down-to-earth girl who starts getting blackmailed and she has no idea how to stop this without facing the consequences. Bre’s life at home is already hell and now add to that a blackmail that she cannot handle. My only issue with this story was Bre’s family. Her family’s exasperating! They would neglect her except for when they needed something and even then, they wouldn’t ask nicely! I debated lowering the rating I gave this book because of this irritating family. They got on my nerves and they riled me up. Their treatment for their daughter/sibling was horrendous. I mean, the parents should be the responsible ones and yet they dump everything on Breanna and don’t even help her or defend her against her siblings. I know it’s wrong but if I could kill all of that family, I would in a heartbeat.Razor is one of the members of the Terror motorcycle club. He’s a very reserved person and only really talks when needed. For Razor to help out Breanna is a huge step for him and he’s even surprised he offered. In return for Razor’s kindness, Breanna sets out to find out what really happened to a family member of his because not even the club he belongs to has talked about it. They find solace in one another and together they go on a journey to figure out what to do with this whole mess.Nowhere But Here was my first Katie McGarry’s novel and it was a huge success. I was left wanting to know about Razor and I was surprised to have gotten access to this second book in the series. I enjoyed it so much. Razor and Breanna were so charming and kind of hilarious at times, especially when they met. We have Breanna who’s prejudiced by who Razor is and Razor doesn’t know if he should open up to Breanna or not. As the story goes on, both characters start to rely on each other and slowly start to form a relationship, which was slow and sweet. The plot had me on edge! My heart was racing as I kept reading and I had no idea what would happen to Breanna and Razor. The blackmail reached a new level and I was gripping my kindle wanting to know where the story would go and if it would be satisfying at the end. Let me tell you it totally was! My heart broke for a few minutes and I was about to start yelling when the story took a different turn and it made me happy. The ending was ultimately gratifying and the author ended the story very nicely.
