About this ebook
Eli Fleurant
Eli Fleurant is a poet-philospher, educator, inventor, and historian of Haitian origin. Born in Cap-Haitien, he completed his primary and secondary schooling at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in his hometown. In 1969, he immigrated to the United States. The author holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from Oswego State University and a master’s degree in school administration and supervision from St. John’s University. Eli Fleurant is the creator of the philosophy of diaphanism: poetics of reason, humanism, positive emotions, collective well-being, and social harmony. Diaphanism was inaugurated in Paris in the year 2000, well received in The United Nations and was also acclaimed by ambassadors and diplomats of that honorable institution. Eli Fleurant was one of the founding members and executive director of the Haitian Academic Forum, headed by Eddy Magloire (today the organization is called, Memory Foundations). He taught languages at Hofstra University and at BCC City University of New York, where he held the post of senator. Currently, he teaches languages at Farmingdale State University of New York. The author has published beautiful poems in university journals and Haitian newspapers. In 1999, he published his first collection of poems, Naked Heart.
