About this ebook

At the age of six I was criminally violated. I wouldnt speak of this horror for decades, but lived it out daily in my demeanor and later through my poems.

This book of poems chronicles my journey from that point. Organizing it was absolutely catharsis. I literally wept as I proofread many of the pieces because they brought back many painful memories. I begin with a piece entitled, Mosaic and end with a piece entitled Promise. They represent my death and ultimate rebirth.

Today I am evolving and redefining myself. With this book I am shaking off the shackles of self-doubt, others perception of who I am and am reclaiming my unique voice. I am capable and worthy of success. Publication of this book declares that.

Poetically, I want to establish myself as a writer committed to the craft, beauty and unique attributes of the genre. I also want to establish myself as an author who is passionate about encouraging others to pursue their dreams.

Marianne Williamsons assertion that, .as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others is my mantra and calling.
