The Year of the Queen’S Diamond Jubilee: The Queen Who Came to Tea

About this ebook
Interview with Christopher
Christopher was asked; Where did the idea for this book at bedtime come from? He replied; I have always loved reading the story The Tiger who came to tea to my own children and those in my care. I read the story one day early this year to a class of four year olds and it struck me what if it was another animal, person, creature, who came to tea who just dropped in ...how we would feel. So my mind was buzzing and as I had seen on the TV and read about all the plans for the year 2012 for the Queens Jubilee I THOUGHT WOW...what if the most important and influential person in the UK was invited to tea; what if.. How would I... what would happen... what changes...what repercussion....my pen started to fly across the page...... What is this amazing story about ;Its about an ordinary little girl called Lillibet, a reluctant reader who out of the blue gets invited to meet the Queen of England in her own home; it describes her adventure of making plans with her mum, paving the way at school with her classmates and all their questions ...dealing with security... communicating to the Queen and her office...and a secret is revealed. Lillibet tries to remain calm and help her mum to get ready for the big day but will it all work out as planned... What about that naughty cat next door could he upset the queens dogs and where should she put the Queens horses!!!
Christopher Chadwick is Head teacher of an International Primary School in Hong Kong.

K.A.Hobson's grandmother encouraged her curiosity as a child. The pond in this book was patterened after the one she spent many weekends with her grandmother. She spent most of her childhood outdoors. I would bring my pen and pad to the pond and write at a picnic table enjoying the scenes and sounds surrounding me. That was my inspiration for most of my writings. Fascinated in the images and colors of the beloved California Seasons. The outdoors provided me with great freedom to create writings that one day I would hope could hold the attention and imagination of young readers. I still live in Northern California with my ever inspiring Daughter. Lizzy, and A Gift from a Genie are my first picture stories.

As Lilibet Rose came down for her breakfast, she noticed a lonely cream-coloured envelope lying on the doormat. ‘There’s a letter, Mum,’ she said, picking it up, and took it into the kitchen where her mum was.
‘What did you say, dear?’ answered her mum as she hurried to create a breakfast in a race against a ticking clock, and ticks were running out.
‘I said there’s a letter for you.’ But Lili was giving the cream-coloured envelope a closer look … ‘Awww! Look, there are special markings on the envelope . . . looks like a small picture of a house, and there’s a badge on the back. Oh, and a special stamp on the front … which says …’ Lilibet set off to read the wording.
502654_Final_01_2%20.tifMeanwhile, her mum was having a minor panic attack and was scraping the burn off the burnt toast into the waste bin. ‘All right, darling, it’s probably someone advertising a holiday or something … don’t worry too much … What do you want on your toast? Jam or peanut butter?’
But Lili started to read on, ‘B … b-b-b … u-u-c-c-c-c-c-c-cing.’ Lili set out to break down the big words. ‘Babb uuuuccckkk ing ham Pala-a-a-a-a-c-c-c-c-c-e-e-e. It says Bucking ham Palace …’
‘Awww, that’s nice, dear,’ said her mum as she put the toast on the table in front of her, not really listening. Lili flipped the letter over and looked at the back.
‘Mum! Mum, there’s a badge on the back … is like a family crest you know, like a coat of arms … like the ones we did in school.’
‘Hummm, yes dear,’ Mum said, biting into her piece of toast with a
