The Search for Asha’s Wings
Oh my, she is the most beautiful fairy I have ever seen……..Look at her fabulous, magical wings they are golden!! She must be the queen…….I must meet her. What is her name?
Asha, Asha,Wake up you are going to be late for school
. Dash yelled. Asha jumped as her dad woke her gently out of her dream.
Okay dad
she answered, rubbing her eyes and reaching her hand back, as she did every morning lately to feel if she had gotten her wings overnight. But alas it wasn’t to be today. ‘Another day of being teased and bullied in the school yard’, she thought to herself giving a big sigh as she hopped out of bed.
Dash had two beautiful fairy daughters Asha and Teigan. They lived in Ardara, which was the closest village to the Queens castle. This made their village the richest in all the land because the work there was plentiful. Dash was the head Gold Collector. He had a group of fairy men who gathered gold for the making of gold dust, crowns and wands for the Queen.
He had lost his wife Mia, when they went visiting relations in a far away village, a few years back. A swarm of black birds attacked their group as they walked along a pathway through a yellow cornfield. They all searched for Mia for hours into the dark of night, but she was never found. It had been very stressful on Asha and Teigan, and Dash had always blamed the late arrival of Asha’s wings on the memory of that horrid day.
We have a meeting with your teacher today Asha so I will be travelling with you to school
Asha looked at Teigan who was slurping honeydew from her bay leaf and taking no heed of what was going on around her, as usual!.
Asha wondered
