Lest my unfinished melody
I fear
come in your way
with it’s impertinent intrusion
may I take your leave for a little reverie—
Your faultless melody
touched me profoundly
the joy of which
I have celebrated over the ages
carried it to the hill’s silence.
I shall now
not in a vain attempt though
beseech you
to breath fresh life
into my ever erring flute
to fill it
with joy unrestrained
for my little indulgence.
