    INTRODUCTION

ROBE GLOBEMODEL IS standing in front of his summer home, located in the Herb High Points Mountains, peering down into the city of Herb Robert RoseMetro located in Northeastern USA; rain is pouring down on the city, but it’s not raining in the mountains. Herb Robert RoseMetro is a newly popular ritzy and picturesque city that surfaced from small subdued suburban towns and rural plains (like the Herb Robert RoseMetro Flower [low growing plant], growing larger from its low-lying state into a sprawling plant) into a metropolis with numerous urbane-dwellers. Robe goes on the road for three years to build an international business, returning home permanently, numerous friends welcome and again regularly hangs with him.

A partial comment from one writer. ". . . It’s the [Intriguing and Intrepid] that sets much of the fashion that the Herd so diligently follows …" —His friends would always say: we’re your devoted friends and herd, Robe.

He successfully builds MarketingSphere and once business is thriving and headquarters is established in HRRM; the business suffers an almost unchangeable marketing deal involving a crooked businessman that could cause millions. Robe would use a machine to force the businessman to cooperate; by altering his thinking and even causing him to stop in the center of a room and shout. Hey people. I want to cancel this damn [deal and] segment,—the businessman would snap out of it; but after implementing another plot, Robe would insist. "That’s a good idea [while you’re at it] search for new business partners and products, but first, sign this damn contract and let me out of this deal."

There is also a crisis developing around his sister’s son. . . . money is missing, … from the home … Robe would use a helicopter to follow those involved, leading to a cave and possibly tragedy.

His friends would always keep abreast and tell him the big news in town, recently one friend relates the finding to a childhood murder mystery? an underworld criminal connected to the mystery would speak ill-mannered of the crime victim. . . . he was a bastard … and his face was all over the news … because the victim is accused of being a squealer toward an illegal business deal.

Robe threatened the individual responsible for the homicide. . . . you schemed up the wrong project, because I’m going to kick your …

Why would Robe drive a motorcycle off a cliffside, hoping to land on a canopy? why would Robe ask a friend, why were you so desperate to … [perform that life-threatening act]? … the friend answered, "all I can say, Robe: [they] destroyed ______, So, I blew-up that damn ______!"

Herb Robert RoseMetro is a quiet city, but lately it’s seeing a lot of strange action, bad influence and dangerous people with mass connections to other cities.

Someone called worried about the collapsing of one of the new skybridges, rated one of the best in the city?—Robe answered, "it needs to be fixed pronto, it draws tourist from around town," and would the collapsing lead to a totally different crisis?

The city is responding well to its growth; but would Robe fix these major issues and how would friends and perhaps the future of HRRM become dependent on him?

    CHAPTER 1

    BROADCAST ENTANGLEMENT

ROBE GLOBEMODEL IS driving to the office; it’s the first day of remaking Herb Robert RoseMetro, his stationary home after being on the road for business development and expansion. A vista of beautiful Herb Robert RoseMetro Flowers (Scientist in this city genetically modified the Herb Robert Flower into the wonderfully smelling Herb Robert RoseMetro Flower) along with other flower species, trees and shrubs adorns the center median strip of the main street Robert RoseMetro Boulevard. Exiting that boulevard and entering a parking lot, he arrives at Herb Robert RoseMetro Complex office building where he would operate his international company MarketingSphere (Marketing Products within all Spheres where People Exist and Operates), from this already established headquarters location.

For the last three years MarketingSphere had him traveling worldwide and temporarily living in different countries and cities; at the end of this first full workday, this newly permanent resident departs the office to go home. He exits the lobby, biding goodbye to moving company employees, delivering the remaining furniture to the office—his secretary managing the furniture delivery. He drives through HRRM Shopping District enters Botany Public Park, parks the car, sits on a bench and begins enjoying the weather and watching wildlife.

A duck waddles up, its wet feathers drips water, its webbed feet soaks a piece of paper on the ground, it stops and shakes water from its feathers, its noticeable broad flat bill holds Robe’s attention. It reminded him of a current MarketingSphere deal, dripping with possible success of millions of dollar bills—but there is a grave inconvenience and crisis.

The CEO of the advertising firm ConfabVertise (We Confabulate [talk informally or privately] and Advertise Publicly for You), contracted by Robe made an almost unchangeable legally binding contract with businessman and friend J. Hummers without Robe’s approval. Hummers is the owner of a small local marketing company Momentum SS. Marketing (Great Forward Marketing Forces and Speed behind Sells and Services) and wants to make a big name for himself. The terms of the contract centers on the Mulproctor ASCU device (Multi-Processor, Adapting and Supervising Connector Unit … it’s designed to connect to the electrical system of an industrial machine or home appliance … Adapt then supervise interior components … instruct, repair, upgrade and process new information … continues monitoring indefinitely to solve any new problems, creating better performance).

Accepting the obligation of that contract means this MarketingSphere product will be released prematurely on an upcoming Wednesday, May 14. Breakfast Chat talk show and invention news program called Creative Cosmos Pros(CCP); before the Mulproctor is ready for market. Robe was considering, parting business relations; but the new CEO of ConfabVertise, John Thursday wanted to keep Robe’s business, intervening when becoming aware of the underhanded transaction and determined to correct the inappropriate deal.

Robe purchased the Mulproctor patent in Europe to sell within the USA; it worked fantastically in the overseas European market, but before making debut in the USA, there is a need for some component adjustments and to perform a second series of quality validation test that would take weeks. This additional process would ensure that during its life cycle, it will live up to the same advertising, warranty, guarantee and testimonial—promoted overseas. This is of utmost importance, because millions of consumers, living in the USA are already familiar with this product and its performance. But before Robe’s Product Review Board couldn’t agree with ConfabVertise on an engineering contractor company who would do the adjustments and preparatory quality control testing which includes compliance, regulatory, dimension of performance, durability … the gun was jumped and the CCP date was set.

Robe and John made arrangements to meet with J. Hummers on March 18, Robe’s assembled legal team and Product Review Board members accompanied him, hoping to achieve Hummers’ cooperation—but the conference was a failure. Hummers was being completely uncooperative, refusing to postpone the CCP talk show segment. Hummers insisted that the adjustments and testing isn’t necessary and demurral isn’t good marketing strategy, during the delay, similar products could become available, eliminating the advantage of early inception into market, resulting in a weaker impact on society. But is willing to continue negotiating and a second meeting is scheduled.

There is also the recent conversation with Billy Showmend a childhood, elementary and high school friend who is expected to call with information on a cold case murder mystery that troubles their former high school student body and education faculty to date.

And thirdly there is the situation involving Robe’s sister Paulea who lives across town and asked for assistances with son, Leerick who is getting out of hand … these crises began developing eight days ago on March 10, since returning indefinitely and after sitting in Botany Public Park thinking about these matters—Robe goes home.

    ____________________________

Robe is well-built, accomplished, extremely handsome and lives alone in a three-level contemporary house: tennis and basketball courts, hot tub, in-ground swimming pool and a streambed running to a basin and eventually to the Without Wood Stems River area. It is early springtime, still chilly during the nights, Robe relaxes in front of the fireplace, watching television and thinking about other upcoming projects with MarketingSphere. The radio is on low volume, a woman’s voice captures his attention; going over and turning up the sound? It is Sarah who’s been a friend for years and is a guest on CCP radio. Sarah is a popular photographer in town, being interviewed for her local heavy volume of film work, recently landing a lucrative photo shoot contract in New York City and will leave for three weeks to fulfill that contract. Robe wanted to get in touch beforehand and in case she isn’t reached, he’ll be in NYC about that same time on business and perhaps could meet up then? that radio program goes off, going over to turn it off, another program airs.

Greeting the public the host announced. This is Net Powercase and welcome to the talk show ‘Go for Broke’ … Mr. Jonesmen is today’s guest on our show.—Robe paused to listen.

Net Powercase asked. How are you, Mr. Jonesmen? and welcome to Go for Broke.

Thank you, Net. I’m doing fine and delighted to be here. And we’re excited to have you and anxious to discuss the success of your management, scientific and technical consulting service company called, ‘Consult MST.’

And I’m so thankful my business colleagues and achievements of Consult MST, have me in the position for this talk show, opportunity.

Great. And your company has grown by leaps and bounds and you’re very successful in Herb Robert RoseMetro—how did you do it?

Mr. Jonesmen explains. America is a great place to work and has a fantastic business sector. I lived in the surrounding areas for years and built Consult MST out of nothing to what it is today—helping businesses successfully tackle management, scientific and technical issues and I also monetarily invest in various other types of businesses.

Net asked. The country is filled with new enterprising citizens; would you say it takes a special person to start a business? get it organized? have an effective system in place that has the ability to handle problems and risks?

A special person? not really. Going into details, but, starting a business is a tremendous undertaking and even an emotional pledge. There is the need to be industrious and of course courageous. Have that reliable system in place and stay ready for those risks that can befall a new entrepreneur in our business environment.

A very practical analysis and break down.

Yes. Entrepreneurship is a lot of work and your whole being should be involved. Anyone who’s willing to put their heart and soul into it—could certainly achieve success.

So, that is what’s required to be successful, like yourself?

Yes, yes, yes. I really do think those are the facets needed to successfully operate your own business.

Thanks Mr. Jonesmen for being on Go For Broke.

And thank you Net. There is chuckling and clapping from Jonesmen.

Robe turned off the radio, felt it was a good interview and someday would like to meet Jonesmen, because there’s a need for investors for an upcoming MarketingSphere project and it’ll be interesting to hear some Consult MST business tips.

A business magazine is next to the large fish aquarium, the cover features a contest Marine Science Center Vacation Getaway Contest—reading over the rules and destinations for the prizewinner … coming across names of previous winners, the name Curb Culture looked familiar, trying to figure out where that name is known? having in mind the word aquarium coming from the Latin term: aqua(prefix) meaning water and arium (suffix) meaning a place for relating to—the telephone rang.

    Hello?

Hey Robe, what’s happening? this is John Thursday.

John, what’s up? Anxious to hear what Hummers is up too, "any new developments?"

There are. I’m at home on my computer and getting ready to retire for the night in an hour, but got a call from Hummers’ office. He sounded alarmed.

I assume an important call about the Mulproctor air date? Bracing to hear the worse.

    Yes, Robe.

What about?—an agreement or a change in the meeting date? Expecting an unwelcomed answer.

Solemn tone. "Not an agreement, just simply bad news"

Getting more upset and retorts. What is it? what happened, John?

Wanted to assure that those supporting MarketingSphere are doing everything humanly possible. "First of all, I have to convey that your legal team and Product Review Board are putting forth real earnest effort and fighting their asses off—"

I feel they are too, I have no complaints. Content with the efforts of the support system, "they’re very single-minded and determined with our objective and I think this second meeting will do it."

    Yeah, I know.

So then, what’s the problem? Robe felt he had to be a little stern, making sure, John continues to aggressively apply himself to the cause.

    There is no second meeting.

Why not? what happened? Imaging the repercussions to his company.

Hummers just canceled the appointment. I got a call from his secretary. I’m calling him to see what’s going on?

"After our first meeting and assuring me of well-meant determination and being fortunate to have this contract with my companyhe couldn’t call himself?"

Right. Lucky as hell and didn’t have the Fu**ing courtesy to contact us, personally.

Call and let’s see what he has to say.

Sure will. And I can’t wait to hear the reasoning behind his latest illogical decision.

Since John worked with Hummers on previous projects, knows him well and Robe isn’t a happy camper. He is expected to be firm with Hummers, Robe agrees. Alright, go ahead. And if you can’t get him to change his mind, call me back and I’ll call him.

About to hang up. John angrily remarked. Dealing with that man is hard. My company had problems with him in the past; but the previous CEO kept him on as an associate and now this problem.

"And it’s putting you under a lot of pressure to correct that former CEO’s business dealings and I trust, you’ll rectify matters."

Thanks. Somewhat relieved because of the continued confidence in him.

"Go ahead and call him and get this meeting restored."

I will Robe. I’m going to put aside this ConfabVertise business, I’ve been working on the last four hours, call and get this meeting restored.

Robe wants the creative spin from the last meeting to continue leading the charge and John doesn’t agree to more demands, making matters more complicated. Try and get this meeting restored without extensively discussing matters and especially adding additional obligations on me—doing that would be great.

Of course, I will try and do that.

"I’ll like to be face to face, observing facial expressions and other gestures while interacting in this argument; that way, we’ll really be able to surmise his sincerity."

John got emotional. "And mygod, sincerity is so damn important, Robe."

    You aren’t kidding, John.

"He is a bit—No, let me change that. He is simply an argumentative guy."

That’s why our intensity is so important. Thanks for your earnestness and effortful stances and go ahead and call him for us.

Thank you too. And I am.

Again about to hang up, Robe remembered. Hey John, hold up. I wanted to ask: do you recognize the name Curb Culture? Asking about that prizewinner, couldn’t put the finger on it.

    I do.

Who is he? He was curious, remembering the name in a scandal.

Curb Culture used to work for us, you probably heard his name around the HRRM business rumor mill.

That’s where. A month ago, I was here for a weekend and chatting with business friends over lunch, I heard about his controversial win; but didn’t have to give up the prize … So, Curb Culture was an employee at ConfabVertise.

Yes unfortunately. And I wish we were able to prove his cheating.

Absolutely. And was this connected to your former CEO and Hummers? Because, I know Hummers has connections to the science center.

All true: Curb Culture, CEO and Hummers—you got all the players. Verifying they’re on the same page.

"I do. And one of those players is trying to check me, by being too erroneously guarded with my product."

    And that’ll be Hummers.

He’s the one. Robe alleged, "you think? Curb Culture’s win was an inside job? A gift from Hummers for helping with talking that CEO into approving our business contract; the win happened, right around the time this contract was worked up."

True. Curb Culture was eventually fired. ConfabVertise heard about the win along and the allegations coming to light. We investigated; but couldn’t conclusively prove it. He later seriously messed up on the job and was terminated on those grounds.

"Unfortunately the corruption involving our deal, so far, hadn’t been verified."

"Hopefully after restoring this meeting and launching this product on acceptable terms or canceling this airing date we’ll never need to converse with him again."

Can’t wait. Ready to hang up, "okay John, I see you’re on your toes and I’ll be expecting your call."

The invoice from the moving company was on the end table; Robe determined to call and see whether all the furniture is moved into the office? But the phone rings.

    Hello Robe. It is Erica.

The two dated on and off for a year; became on the verge of that next level of exclusivity; but suddenly didn’t think they were ready; agreeing to be really good friends and currently the relationship is camaraderie with benefits.

What’s up, Erica? She is a hopeless romantic, it cheered him up to hear her pretty voice after that disgraceful conversation.

With light laughter, answers. "Nothing. Just been working a lot, hadn’t had time for anything, it’s Friday and I’m just calling, interested in seeing what you’re up to? unpacking or what? my FWB."

"I’m in the living room, thinking over business related stuff. But, I’m loving the curiosity."

    And you should.

And no. I haven’t completely unpacked.

Since you haven’t, maybe I’ll come over later and assist you with your unpacking?

    I’ll be here.

Her tone becomes more livelier. And I’ll be there soon.

And I can’t wait. Working all day, really wishing to simply relax, but calling at the right time, made his day.

And I have to admit: I was lying in wait and hoping we’ll be laid for a good time and wondering or do I have to lay it on thick to get this party started? He could hear the sexiness in her voice, a familiar tone when she’s trying to turn him on.

He chuckles and responds. Just come on, it’s Friday, I’m off tomorrow and have plenty of time.

Proud of herself. "Uh-huh. First weekend home for good and I’ve picked the best time to call my Robe."

    You did Erica.

Happy the arrangements are set, she lips a complaint. "Glad you haven’t started getting out and about town; otherwise, I would never have caught you
