About this ebook

This book is about the four seasons spring, summer, autumn, and winter and the way peo-ple are affected by each season. Spring brings her promise of new life in gardens and forests, in animals, and yes, in humans too. Summer turns us all into children again (okay maybe some of us). Who doesnt like to feel the sand in between their toes or enjoy an ice cream cone on a hot sunny day? Autumn can be one of the unpredictable times of the year. Sometimes you think that summer is still around because the days are still sunny and warm; we take advantage this, and last-minute trips are arranged. The days soon start getting cooler, and Mother Nature starts preparing the trees, flowers, and some animals for their long winter sleep. Winter is when are thoughts turn to long cosy nights; frosty mornings; and the promise of Christmas, Santa, and snow!

    About the Book

    Dear reader,

My name is Cheryl Croman. I was born in 1954 and raised in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Ellesmere Port has changed a lot in the last fifty or so years, and so has my life. I grew up the eldest of four girls. We moved quite a lot because Mum could never settle. She was born in Pontypool, South Wales, with lots of open green fields. During the flower power years (the ’70s and ’80s), I watched the first man set foot on the moon and, later on, watched as the Berlin Wall was pulled down stone by stone.

I married my husband, David, in May; we were together for twenty-eight happy years, twenty-five of those years as man and wife. Sadly, my much loved husband died in January 2012 after a long illness.

Through out the years we spent together we shared tears of both sadness and happiness, more happy tears than sad; laughter and love played a big part of our lives as well and still do today.

I live with my two children, Amy and Michael. Both are grown up but not yet ready to fly the nest. As my children were growing up, I would use their drawings and make up stories. This I thought would be a good way to teach them to read; it worked very well. The stories, I am sad to say, ended up in the bin once my children had out grown them (if only we could look into the future). We have two cats named Polly and Bella. (They do not like each other, so we try to keep them apart, which is not always easy).

We still live in Ellesmere Port and get along very well most times, but in my minds eye i Amy and Michael are still babies and not adults whom are able to look after themselves. Are some of the events in this book from my life? That’s a question for you to answer.

    Happy reading!

    Spring
