About this ebook

Committed to continued excellence in establishing in-depth and comprehensive safety and security awareness and protection education for the public; They're Killing Our Children is without a doubt, a bold and engaging look at mass killers in America, how theyre abhorrently slaughtering our children, and the conversations parents must have with their children in order to educate and keep safe our nations most valuable resource.

At its best, They're Killing Our Children demands both conversation and action; re-engaging the discussion on gun control legislation in America, repairing flaws in our nations mental health care system and many other critical issues affecting children today.

Our most basic obligation is to support the healthy development of our nation's children. We are not powerless, and this is not our new normal. No one man can save a nation, and doing nothing has severe consequences for our childrens future.

If we dont act now to protect our children today, tomorrow may be too late.

Roland J. Stewart

Born and educated in Chicago, Illinois, Roland joined the United States Air Force Security Police Career Field in April of 1985. He has written and edited numerous Security Police training manuals that have become tools for success in the United States Air Force and the Security Police career field. His training and experience in physical security, law enforcement and anti-terrorism is both diverse and expansive. Shortly after retirement in May of 2005, Roland became a licensed Independent Anti-terrorism and Workplace Protection Consultant in Chicago, IL. In April 2010, Roland published Protect America: Not Afraid and Fighting Back, the first in the “Protect America” series. In a continued effort to aid in the fight against terrorism and crime and violence in America, comes another ambitious and hands-on novel "They're Killing Our Children." Today, as a seasoned professional with over two decades of distinguished experience, he's seen the changes overtime, and believes, our most basic obligation is to support the healthy development of our children. Because the threats against children are real, the time to do something is also real. While we must find ways at preventing mass shootings and reducing gun violence, we must also address the access to quality mental health care both to help prevent violent acts and to assist victims of trauma. As our nation works forward to prevent violence of any kind, it must be reminded that schools and after school activities are very safe places for children. Terrorism has been perpetrated on those least able to fend for themselves — young children; as well as the young killers. Education, information and proactive people are the master keys to successful intervention and prevention. Doing nothing has severe consequences for the future of our children.

    THEY’RE

    KILLING

No single law—or even set of laws—can prevent every act of violence in our country. But the fact that this problem is complex cannot be an excuse for inaction.

I wish heaven had a phone so I could talk to you my child.

I miss your touch, your laugh and your cry.

I miss the way you would run and play.

I miss the way you’d try and hide away from us,

and make us look for you.

Why did this have to happen to you?

Mom has not been the same since you left us son.

All she does is sit and cry.

I miss your touch, your laugh and your cry.

Why did this have to happen to you?

I wish heaven had a phone so I could talk to you again

    my dear, precious child.

    Dedications/Acknowledgements

They’re Killing Our Children is dedicated to the many innocent children who have lost their young lives to senseless violence all over the nation and the world. As with both, the September 11, 2001 tragedy and the Boston Marathon bombing, these horrific tragedies will live on in our nation’s memories for eternity. Thus here too, we will never forget!

This book is dedicated to my wonderful and insightful parents, Roosevelt and Josephine Stewart, whom I admired the most. Together, they spent a lifetime mentoring, guiding and encouraging me to do the right thing. May you rest in peace my wonderful inspiring and loving parents; job well done! To my grandmother, Helen Madea Tucker, thank-you for the precious and valuable moments you’ve spent with us, carving your own very significant and special footprint. You were the matriarch who’s held this great family together for over nine decades. Your smile, strength and always kind and stern words will live through me for an eternity. To my glamorous aunt Jeanette, as with my beautiful and loving first cousin Nugey—you both left us way too early. Cancer is a severe disease that has killed millions of people across the world, but every year the treatment for this problem gets another step closer. Rest in peace family! To my wonderfully supportive extended family—you’ve supported me to the end—and for that, I say thank-you and love you!

    Eternal rest, grant unto them,

O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

This book is also dedicated to my three brothers, Roosevelt Jr., Roell Hilton and Rolando; and to my friend and confidant, Kevin who was there by my side when I needed him the most. These are the heroes in my life; they are the ones who have provided me with both the inspiration and motivation to achieve the goals I’ve reached so high for; thank-you and I love you all.

Finally, this book is dedicated to our nation’s military, and the nation’s proud first responders. Thank-you for the work you so proudly do. No one really understands until they’ve walked in your boots. Kudos!

It is important for the United States of America never to forget the transformative power of liberty. I believe there’s an Almighty, and I believe a gift of that Almighty to every man, woman, and child on the face of the Earth is freedom.—George W. Bush, 43rd President
