About this ebook
Vividly written in a casual and personal style, A Letter to My Father gives readers an insider's look into a father's goodness and gentleness and a daughter's poignant recollection of her life's journey unlike any other.
Edith Siega Lee
Edith Siega Lee was born during World War II. She was only a few days old when she was evacuated to the mountains. Her father led the armed civilians to protect everyone's life. After the war, with her family's steadfast belief in God, they survived. Edith grew up as a war-worn little girl. It was through her family's collaborative efforts that she became strong in spirit. She went to college and became a high school teacher. Then she immigrated to the United States. This monumental experience took a bittersweet tinge as she was unable to share it with her father because of his death. She worked in the University of Texas, Brandeis University, and Stanford University. She retired from Stanford University and established residency in Arlington, Texas. Edith Lee loved her career and enjoyed marriage. However, her husband died. She remarried and was happy again. Shortly thereafter, she battled with breast cancer and survived. Presently, she is working with Home Health Care in New York to realize her fervor in giving care to the helpless. Amidst all the rough and tumble of her existence, Edith Lee trusted in God, the love of her family, and the blessing of her father to carry her through. She felt her father's presence every step of the way. The devoted daughter wrote this letter to celebrate the goodness of a man who spent his ninety-two years living a life the way it should be lived.
