About this ebook

This is the story of how an unseen world began to reveal itself to me in the years following the death of my son. It tells of the transformation I went through; how I was taken from viewing life through a lens which allowed me to see only the physical world to a vantage point where I was given a much broader view of our existence.

I invite the reader to take the journey I found myself on; what for me was a paradigm shift in my understanding of life. This journey began at a point where my feelings were a mixture of hopelessness, deep sorrow and frustration. I began a search trying to find answers to the question of what lies behind our existence, and in particular to try to determine whether or not I would ever be with my son again.

I am not a religious person, so I began to search for answers in a way that satisfied my scientific mentality and was surprised that, after a great deal of searching, both in the literature and in my own soul, the answers gradually began to appear. I discovered what for me is a new reality - a much better, far more interesting and more cheerful one than I ever had before.

BILL KASPARI was living a normal life even though he had lost his first son, who died as an infant. He had an engineering and business background and accepted, without giving the subject a great deal of thought, the modern scientific view of life that we are "here today, gone tomorrow" with no real vision of where we might go. When he lost a son for the second time, his world was completely turned upside down. He had gotten so close to his son John, who was killed at the age of twenty-two, that he desperately needed to find answers to the question of whether or not we survive the death of our physical body, and if we do, what follows that physical death. He began a search in the only way he could understand and accept - following scientific methods of inquiry. However, he soon found that mainstream science virtually ignores the subject, and treats life as though it is a coincidental result of evolution following the "big bang" and that there is no existence following death. Motivated by his deep need to "know" and also by the "so what - we all die" attitude he occasionally encountered, he began his search. After years of reading what he could find on the subject, he became involved in the study of mediums, people who apparently have an innate ability to communicate with the deceased. He discovered, using emerging new scientific methodologies, that there clearly appears to be an existence beyond what we call death. The result of this new understanding has had a profound, transformative effect on him. He now views life as a fantastic learning experience with unlimited opportunities to grow in both an intellectual and spiritual way.
