About this ebook

You are about to enjoy one of my many children's stories. Through my artwork this story takes place in the water and air on a warm summer's eve with two very different species. One character is warm fuzzyand does acrobatics in the air, while the second creature is slimy, a good jumper, and swift swimmer. Batina & Croakus were strangers till a chilling circumstance happened!

Diane Packard

Diane Packard was born in the spring of 1944, a true baby boomer! The daughter of a finishing carpenter, Ernst Schurter and and Margaret Slattery, a RN. From a young child growing up in Colerain, Ohio, her parents instilled in her a deep respect for the natural world and a love for all God's creatures. This love for nature is evident everywhere Diane's paintings can be found; plastered on the walls of family members, displayed in Hamilton County art shows, murals in schools and country clubs, even on a semi- truck! Mrs. Packard earned her BA and MA in Art Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. An educator with a passion for creating, and selling her art, she taught for the city of Mount Healthy for 27 years and still returns to the public schools of Cincinnati where her son Andrew works as a paraprofessional, to read to school children from story books of her own creation and clever crafts to go with them. She married Edward Alan Packard who cane to Cincinnati from Springfield, Massachusetts to be come an engineer at General Electric. Ed loved motorcycles, the outdoors, and traveling. They spent their time hiking and camping together. Diane is a very active person. Never a dull moment, she belongs to several social groups that she meets with throughout the week; Hill Top artists, The Red Hats, The United Methodist Church, Garden & Flower arranging club, American Motorcycle Association, and The Cavaliers to name just a few. When Diane is not at her vacation home in Florida, beach combing and picking sea shells off the seashore, you can find her in the little town of Harrison, Ohio with her son Andrew, grandsons Elijah, Marshal, and Miles Packard. Behind every well known author is a good dog and Diane is no exception. The newest member of the family is her beloved Tootsie. Tootsie looks like a Scottie but is a PBGV, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.
