About this ebook
Overcoming impossible odds in which many people in similar situations have failed and lost everything, Dany Christi instead turned to God and sought after Him for wisdom and knowledge in financial matters. After being buried in more than $54,000 of debt (not including mortgage debt) on a salary of approximately $30,000 a year, she asked God for wisdom and knowledge and learned and applied the biblical approach to finances. That approach has guided her to financial freedom today. Enclosed are useful tools and financial-management techniques that readers can use in managing their personal finances.
Dany Christi

APPENDIX
To My Mother
and
the one who has inspired me
for more than 20 yrs.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses . . . There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee . . . Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:3, 5, 7-9
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
In a sense, this book began to write itself the night I made a promise to God that if He would just give me the wisdom, the knowledge, or make a way for me to climb up out of the deep hole of debt that I found myself in, that I would tell the story to anyone who wanted to listen. Contained within is part of that story written from excerpts of the pages of my life as God divinely intervened and saved me from destruction. That in such times, I pray these words will be an inspiration to you, the reader. God has blessed my family and me tremendously. There are not enough words, nor is there any amount of money or gratitude, that I could give to Him that truly can express how thankful I am. Lord, I love You and am so very grateful that You took the time to write my story while carrying me through every step of the way.
I want to thank Al Smalls for asking me the question and because he unknowingly allowed God to use him to be the mouthpiece for my divine intervention to financial freedom. Mom, thank you for the brief, yet all-inclusive financial lesson you gave to my sister and me growing up: If you can’t pay for it on your own, leave it in the store.
And, to the one who inspires me and makes me want to be a better lady, giving me reason to love him more each day, the one who has drawn the cover and written me beautiful poetry filled with great and ever abiding love, S.W.S., Sr., I’ll always love you.

INTRODUCTION
On January 20, 2009, I decided that it was time… It was Inauguration Day in Washington, DC, and history was in full action of being made in our nation. We were on the brink of swearing into the presidential office the nation’s first Black American President to lead our country. The city was overflowing with people from all over the world, with all races of life, and everyone there was joyous and in a mood for celebrating such a historic event. While the masses were walking the streets trying to get a glimpse of Barak Obama, our soon-to-be—President, and his young family, I watched from the corporate apartment the events that were taking place around me. As our President was being sworn into office, I decided that now was the time to pen these words to share and hopefully be an inspiration to all.
Growing up, our family didn’t have much, although many others who knew the family always assumed that we came from old money. If we did have this so-called old money, I didn’t see it. After my mom’s divorce, my mom, my sister, and I lived with my grandmother until she passed away in November of 1991. It was only a few days before Thanksgiving. The family had been prepared for her passing, as the doctors had already informed us of her condition and said there was nothing more they could do. I had just found out that I was pregnant with my first child, a son, a few weeks prior to her passing away.
