We Don't Walk Nowhere: Vietnam 66-67 a Jim Longton Novel
()
About this ebook
If you were alive during the Vietnam War (not conflict) it
probably had a profound effect on you whether in the military or
not, whether you loved or hated those who fought. If you pulled
a tour of duty in country you know what a crazy mess it was.
Even if there wasnt a war going on around you typically the living
conditions were enough of a foul challenge. Now that were old
guys and gals we enjoy a camaraderie that only those who spent
a tour in Vietnam can understand. God Bless all those who had
their ass on the line every day.
James L. Longton
I am a four-year U.S. Army veteran with three years of over seas service including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Once the hate for Vietnam Vets abated in the U.S. I began to think I should write some of the memories of my time in the "big green machine" down on paper before they were all just memories. In fact my original title for the book was "Before the Memory Fades" but it quickly changed to "We Don't Walk Nowhere" because that was a phrase that came out of the mouth of our Senior Drill Instructor on the first day of basic and I can still hear those words nearly 50 years later.
