About this ebook

Every good book needs a racy title, and YOU ARE A RACIST is certainly that. The 'racist' part is dealt with rather quickly, followed by a segue into Anecdote Exploitation, Doublespeak, the Crumble Factor, and a critique of bureaucrats. Examples are given of real money, fake money, government grants, and the real Secret of Success for the 'American Experiment' The untouchable Politics and Religion, Global Warming Hoax, and Immigration are touched upon. Downshifters, the Stealth Tax, and possible solutions for the present state of the economy round out the rest of the book. On a shorter and lighter note, there is included a lost gold mine story, a short story, and finally a poem, 'Trees'

    Preface

This book is not so much well-researched as it is well-

remembered. There are no footnotes or references. Much of it is autobiographical in origin, being both observed and experienced. Not all events seemed to require a conclusion at the time; they were simply experienced and observed; but looking back, one can form a conclusion today and see a larger, longer picture. One of the blessing/curse aspects of a long life is that some things are remembered differently than they were recorded by the media. Revisionist history often starts with slanted contemporary reporting which may poison or sweeten the record that others will follow and depend upon.

The author remembers the ‘Great Depression’ as an active time; people might not have much money, but they kept busy, made the best of it, and found entertaining things to do. (Entertainment seems to be a human drive, as much as survival itself, not as intense but continuous.) Schools had ball games, musicals, plays, and other events, holidays came and went, people died and babies were born. There were great moments and sad ones. Life goes on.

Events today are critical and fast moving, we are told. They appear to be more exciting, but there are gaps. Some factors are given great importance while others get little attention. During the ‘O.J. Trial’ it seemed nothing else was happening. But there was another trial going on, in Federal Court in Texas. The Branch Davidian survivors were being tried for some federal offense in Waco (?) Texas. One of the defendants was six months old. We couldn’t find out anything, even when we asked. Our TV station said they only could show what ‘came down on the feed.’ Whoever controls the ‘feed,’ determines what events we learn about. How often does this happen ? What is happening behind the ‘news’ that might be important to us ? Are we only getting censored news ? Are we being fed the true story or only the ‘approved’ version ? Who approves it ?

When we see TV reporters fixated on a little girl’s death in Florida, we wonder – is something important being covered up ?

    All Sentient Creatures Are Most

    Comfortable With Their Own Kind

This fundamental law is so obvious that it has been overlooked by behaviorist commentators and the general public.

The Corollary to this law is It is normal for all sentient creatures to be suspicious of others who are different from themselves.

When a sentient creature is first born, it seeks comfort and avoids discomfort. Typically, the mother offers comfort and establishes rapport for that particular species. The sentient creature recognizes its mother’s (and its own) species as being safe and comfortable. From then on, others will be judged by comparison with that first impression. When meeting new entities the sentient creature will compare and evaluate them based on its own past experience. The sentient creature will prefer the company of entities like its mother and itself. Others will have to ‘prove themselves.’

With experience, the sentient creature will find that entities different than its mother seldom offer the same comfort, and are therefore less appealing. The choice soon becomes; similar for comfort versus different. Different is to be avoided or at least ignored. The personality has been set: Similarity is good. Different is suspect.

As the creature grows and gains more experience, it expands its ability to evaluate other entities, and will modify its original simplistic criteria, but the basic comparison is always in the background.

The foregoing applies to all sentient creatures, not just humans. However, as they develop, human babies become more discerning about things they observe, and they will question what they perceive. Even without the vocabulary and verbal skills, the baby’s life is ‘notice and compare,’ ‘notice and compare,’ ‘notice and compare.’ Lower species do not question, they accept ‘what is.’

The human baby will notice and compare its similarity with other humans around it. One of the obvious comparisons will be skin color. The old comparison is still there; Similarity is good; different is suspect and raises the question ‘why?’

If the baby’s skin color is the same as all those around it, there is no question. If the baby had fur and all those around it had fur, there would be no question. If the baby’s skin color is different from those around it, there is the question ‘why?’ and ‘do I belong here?’ And also ‘What am I?’ A question has been raised that may haunt it for the rest of its life if there is a difference.

Skin color is very obvious to the sentient creature, and the sentient creature has a strong desire to be a comfortable part of the surrounding world. Popularity polls show that more than 90% of blacks (and browns) support President Obama for reelection. Is that racist? Of course. It’s natural. He’s family.

The baby will follow ‘notice and compare’ with ‘notice, compare, and imitate.’ By imitating, it will be conforming to those around it. It will imitate within its abilities to do so.

Conformity is an urge, just as much as other urges. To conform brings comfort, approval, and security. Even ‘non-conformists’ are imitating someone they admire. ‘George Washington was a rebel, so if I rebel, I am like George Washington.’ Or ‘the rock star xyz has his nose pierced, so if I have my nose pierced, I am like him. It’s often humorous to observe a group of ‘non-conformists’ because they are so similar in their appearance. The baby wants to conform, so as to be secure and comfortable.

Guilt, however, is an external mechanism by which others try to exploit differences and questions to their own advantage or profit. They
