Aida Waters was born in 1973 on the tiny island of Gozo.She received her first education at the Victoria Primary School and later on at the Girls' Junior Lyceum .She graduated as a teacher at the University of Malta in 1994. Currently teaching nine year olds at her childhood school, this is her first book for children ages 9 to 11 and for the ever young at heart.

At Mimmo’s there was an important meeting. It was the ideal time of day for all the members to gather round the kitchen table and discuss matters. Serious ones.
Peppino, the chairman, was the first to show up. With his stainless-steel belly, he gave a big push forward and knocked his younger twin brothers, Gennaro and Nicola, off the pots’ hanger. The trio landed in the centre of the huge, wooden, kitchen table with their usual, chaotic bings, bangs and bongs.

Lola’s soprano voice was only heard after all the noise had died down. The beautiful decanter moved amidst the countless glasses, her long, clear neck making all bottles turn. She made her way towards a blushing Peppino, hips swaying and catching the dim flicker of the candlelight, until she found her place and turned to look around her.
