()
About this ebook
Then something amazing happens. A Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, rescues him from the wolves and then carries Mark to the safety of his home and Lady Bigfoot. Mark loves the gentle creatures, and he grows quite accustomed to the wilderness lifestyle. Soon, he even begins to think of the two creatures as his surrogate parents.
Mark lets the dream of returning to civilization slip further and further away. He loves living in the woods and loves his new family. But then, eight years later, something unexpected happens. A plane crashes in the forest, and the only survivor is the governors beautiful daughter, Rita. Mark rescues her, and the two soon fall in love.
When a search party finds Mark and Rita, Mark has a difficult choice to make. He doesnt want to leave his Bigfoot mother and father behind, but Ritas father doesnt want his little girl living in the forest, either! Will Mark and Rita be able to stay in the woods, or will they be forced to return to civilization?

THE SEARCH
What’s that you’re looking at Mr. Talltrees?
exclaimed the sheriff impatiently, We’re searching for a lost kid here, we don’t have time to go scrabblin’ around on the ground.
Richard Talltrees did not reply. Squatting down, he carefully pushed aside the bushes to reveal what he had found - something that looked very much like a footprint, only much larger. Sasquatch,
he said firmly. Very new markings…
Do you mean Bigfoot? Are you nuts?
interrupted Sheriff Johnson. We can’t tell anybody you’re out here lookin’ for stuff like that! Where do you think we are, in Storybook land?
With swift movements of his shiny black shoes, the sheriff smoothed out the dust, erasing the print.
Richard Talltrees pulled back and coughed in the cloud of dust raised by the Sheriff’s shoes. That was important,
he said glancing up as he struggled to stay calm. We need to do everything we can to find this boy before it gets dark. He’s only twelve, and he can’t last long out there alone.
Yeah, I know Mark and his family, he’s a good kid. We need to find him, and here you are,
snorted the Sheriff, messin’ around with fairy tales!
Deciding that his skills as a guide were more important than winning an argument, Richard Talltrees stood up and moved on deeper into the woods, following small clues of broken twigs and marks on the ground. His efforts were soon rewarded.
Here is a piece of cloth caught in a bush,
He said.
Let me see!
exclaimed the Sheriff, pushing ahead. Using a stick, he pulled the scarf free from the bush. It is a Boy Scout neckerchief, and it has blood on it,
he said softly.
Both men looked over the surrounding area. There’s been a struggle here,
the Sheriff commented. Now, there are some real tracks for ya,
he continued. The area did have many tracks in it; some looked like dog tracks, only larger.
Wolves
said Richard Talltrees. This is a hunting ground for them.
I see some tracks that must be the boy’s shoes,
the Sheriff said.
I have been seeing those,
Richard Talltrees agreed, They come from where we have been. I have been following them, but I do not see where they leave this area.
The wolves must have dragged him off,
the Sheriff concluded. Guess there is nothing left for us to follow.
"There are Sasquatch prints also…’ Richard Talltrees said, almost to himself.
Enough with the bigfoot already,
said the Sheriff, rolling his eyes. It’s bad enough we have to go tell this kid’s folks that he’s gone, and here you are, telling stories."
Mr. Talltrees made a mental note to himself about the location of the large footprints he had noticed, but decided to say nothing further about them.
