INTRODUCTION
Journey to the Center of the Earth (1871) was Jules Verne's second published novel, and despite the dozens of works he went on to create afterward, it remains one of his most enduring tales. The story revolves around esteemed mineralogist Professor Otto Lidenbrock and his nephew Axel, who discover a coded message hidden in an ancient Icelandic manuscript. The message suggests that it is possible to travel to the center of the Earth through a passage in a
