About this ebook

Bia is the goddess of strength and compulsion, but those traits have her trapped in iron. A simple kiss could break the curse, but who wants to kiss a statue? Especially a statue of a woman stabbing a man in the heart? She knows better than to hope her celestial mate will find her, but what if her hopes are justified?
Oliver, a very quiet, geeky guy, knows his way around fabric and fashion. He excels at his job of dressing mannequins for storefronts, but he's lonely. When he sees the statue of Bia, he's smitten. She's everything—strong, confident and sexy—everything he wishes to be. What will happen if the shy man overcomes his fears and gives in to his heart's desire? He just might be able to harness the power of the goddess.

    Chapter One

I am so embarrassed. Bia wished she could close her eyes or at least cover her body. Even three centuries later, her heart ached in her chest. She’d been impulsive and foolish. She stared at the planks of the box surrounding her. One night with her lover and she’d managed to end up cursed to live in iron. She could still see Iason’s face in her mind. He’d taken another woman into his bed. In her anger, her strength overwhelmed her, and she plunged her sword into his chest and heaved him from Olympus.

The man had sworn he loved her, but she knew better. A man who truly loved her wouldn’t have cheated or insulted her. Iason said a woman should be soft and sweet, not more powerful than a man. He’d even told her how she resembled her brothers more than her sister. But she’d loved him. He’d been a mistake she couldn’t move away from, and she’d lost the freedom she cherished.

Voices outside the box grabbed her attention. A piece of the wood moved and the front of the box opened. The light blinded her for a moment. She wanted to blink, but the iron prevented any movement. When her eyes finally adjusted to the light, she noticed two men staring. Having been a statue for so long, she wasn’t bothered by people staring at her. The people had no choice but to look—she was a statue. One of her many regrets had been that she’d been encased in the iron while still in the nude.

One of the men moved another section of the box away from her. When he moved closer, she recognized him—the dark hair, strong chin, and powerful presence. Kratos, her brother.

This is so wrong, Kratos said. He scrubbed the back of his hand across his mouth. What are we going to do?

I didn’t curse her and if I had been there, I would’ve made her get dressed.

    She knew that voice, too.

She always did have a thing for being nude. Zelus, the shorter of the two, shrugged. I bet she wishes she wasn’t naked now.

Bia, honey, I know you’re still in there. Zelus and I are happy to see you. Kratos smiled. You’re home. No more museums or having to decorate that jerk’s mansion. We’re going to do our best to get you out of there.

Unless they knew a hot man who wasn’t put off by a woman with muscles, then they might be out of luck. She hoped they could find her someone, but she didn’t have much faith in anything.

I hate the way we have to stand here talking to her and making her feel silly because she’s stuck in that iron. Zelus folded his arms. He narrowed his eyes like he used to do when he was deep in thought, then he snapped his fingers. Wait. Doesn’t Andy know a guy who can help us dress her?

I’ll find Andy and ask. Kratos shrugged. Worth a shot.

Bia sighed, not that they could hear her. She wished they could both help her and hear her. She wanted free of the iron. She wanted to move and love … and not be bound to a metal pedestal with her wings outstretched.

Kratos left the room, but Zelus remained. I know you can’t talk to us, Zelus said. But I’m glad you’re here.
