    CHAPTER 1

Is that all you can say? CP asked Darwin.

Darwin focused on driving the boat as fast as he could and hoped that the engine would cooperate.

Curtis, at this point, what else can we do? We’re in a broken down fishing boat, we’re running out of fuel, and those crazy ass Jamaican’s are gaining on us.

I don’t know, cuzz…I thought that you’d have the answer.

Darwin could barely keep his eyes open. The wind, mixed with fresh sprays of ocean water, was whipping into the bridge with the force of a wind tunnel. He glanced down at CP and noticed that he was kneeling beneath the dash in order to shield himself from the torrent as well.

Curtis, go below and have the guys round up anything that can be used as a weapon.

CP gave Darwin and disconcerted look. Really, D? That’s your plan?

Hopefully not but it’s a good backup. Just get your skinny ass downstairs.

What should I tell them to look for?

Shit, Curtis, I don’t know. A knife…a chain…a few bottles; fuck, anything we can throw and inflict damage.

    All right, man.

CP went down below and Darwin reluctantly took a peek at the fuel gauge. They were now down to a half a tank. He knew they weren’t going to be able to travel much farther, especially at this speed.

The Jamaican gunmen had gotten close enough to resume their target practice and bullets once again ripped through the boat.

    Goddamnit, Darwin yelled.

He started to execute sharp turns
