    About the Author

I dedicate this book to all who serve fighting against terrorism across the globe.

I dedicate this book to my family and friends who have stuck by me and believed in me.

Most of all I dedicate this book to fallen soldiers and law enforcement folks who have put their lives on the line to protect us against terrorism.

    Preface

Terrorism. What does the word terror mean? Terror means to inflict some sort of fright into someone, to use violence as a political instrument. Terror is all around, up and down. No matter which way you turn, somewhere in the world, terror is being planned and is being executed. The major question at hand is what to do to prevent it? In the city of Washington D.C., one man had his own answer. Agent Jim Deliviki took on a mission and sought out to do just what needed to be done.

Through countless hours of traveling around the world, agent Deliviki was determined to avenge his late father’s death. Time after time exposing him to danger, and just barely getting out of harms way. Yet determined to rid the United States of terrorism, he sought out to track a group of terrorist. The group, under one man named Ramszy, had been following Jim’s father and decided to end his life.

Little did Jim know that all the traveling and spying had taken him across seas and back to only end up not really getting rid of terrorism in the states. He had just only made the numbers a little less to conquer. Then after the death of Ramszy, Amanda and Jim had managed to push through the massive crowd of reporters and police officers getting soaked by the heavy rain that was falling. Then suddenly, a gunshot echoed through the air.

The crowd of people suddenly panicked as the sound echoed passed them. Everyone around reacting as if they were the ones being shot at and dropped themselves to the ground or hid behind cars or trucks. Folks were scared and confused as the commotion grew in intensity as people scrambled about. Jim was hit in the shoulder and was quickly lying on the ground. While laying there on the ground, everything was in slow motion for him. The sounds and lights were muffled as he tried to make sense of what was happening to him.

Leaning over his head to the left of him on the soaked ground as the rain pelted his body and face, he could barely make out the confusion around him. The rain was getting into his eyes blurring his vision. Slowly moving his head back straight he noticed the helicopters above flying over and then turns his head to the right and sees what looks like to be medics approaching him but no Amanda insight.

Where the heck was Amanda, Jim thought as the medics reached him and tried to help him. Struggling against the medics, Jim motions them to get away as they responded.

Sir, you must lye still, you have been shot.

Didn’t matter to Jim, he was still in a daze and could not understand them, for they sounded muffled and in slow motion as the responded to Jim. Not only that, while lying there his head was spinning a thousand miles around as the sounds quickly came back to him as if he was punched in the stomach at the very moment making his body sit up.

Sir take it easy, you have been shot and need to stop moving around.

Jim not aheeding to the medics wishes, raises his good arm and tries to brush away the medics.

    Where is she?

Sir, you need to stop! States a medic trying to hold down Jim.

Where is the girl, she was here with me. Still struggling as he tries to reason with the medics.

Who is he talking about? Asks one medic to the other.

He must be hallucinating from hitting his head on the ground or something.

Yeah must be. Come on let’s slide him on the stretcher and get him into the ambulance, before he gets worse.

Yeah you are right we need to get him to the hospital, besides it is hard to work out here in this cold pouring rain.

Careful, try not to move his head to fast, we better brace his head.

No, his head doesn’t look to be injured, just a little dazed. He will be ok, let’s go.

One of the medics turns to the ambulance after sliding Jim onto the stretcher and whistles for them to back up and open the back doors. Jim pissed off because he feels the medics are full of crap from not seeing Amanda, which in fact the medics couldn’t see her for she had eluded the crowd of folks and was not in sight.

Both medics lift the stretcher up and slide Jim into the back of the ambulance and quickly prepare an I.V. with pain medicine and insert it into his arm. While this was going on and Jim laid there, out from around the back of the ambulance appeared a man dressed in black wearing a black hat, hands in his trench coat with rain pelting off his shoulders and stares into the ambulance. Jim and the medics still unaware of this man’s presence, the man in black stands there as he is approached by police to move away. This commotion causes Jim to lean his head up and look out the back and as he notices him standing there when suddenly his eyes felt heavy from the medicine being pumped into him, slowly closes his eyes as the man standing there becomes a blur and then Jim is no longer awake.

The pain medicine had put him to sleep and the police shut the back doors and then tapped on it to alert the ambulance to go. Sirens screamed out in blurts two to three times to alert folks to move out of the way as the ambulance made its way out of the parking lot and onto the main road and darted off with full sirens blasting.

    Chapter One

Two weeks had passed since the gun shot. All the rumble and commotion had ceased. Many newspaper articles around the world began to circulate on the death of Ramszy, and agent Deliviki connection to the entire mess, but not all was tranquil. Up in the White House, the president was in an up roar. Many Joint Chiefs of Staff have gathered to talk about the matter at hand.

While they talked about what exactly took place, Jim was laid up in a hospital bed. The gunshot wound had grazed his left upper arm. This wasn’t a life threatening wound but rather a superficial wound. The blow from the shot had knocked him out for a couple of days from landing on the ground, head first. Investigators and reporters stunned to how he was shot. Some say there had to be someone above ground level that took the shot or was it from behind? Could it possibly have been Amanda? Through the crowd of people and commotion, she somehow slipped away.

Rumor had been spread the she fled back to her motherland, while other rumors spread that she is waiting for Jim to recover, and team up with her. Many other people were led to believe that Jim wasn’t the target, but Amanda was the target. Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Agent Deliviki received a visitor.

Jim how are you doing? Replied the visitor.

Jim turned his head to the right of him to see who the person was. The visitor was wearing a doctor’s outfit. Jim looked him up and down then suddenly…

Hey Spit… Jim was quickly hushed.

Shh! Don’t mention my name out loud.

Ok, ok. Why the silent treatment? Jim responded.

My friend, you have made a lot of people quite upset.

Look, I was just doing my job. Jim said.

Yes, that is why I must get you out of here immediately.

    Why?

No time for questions. The man in black has requested your appearance.

Oh no, I will not be caught up in his feud with the terrorist again.

    Too late. Spitfire replied.

    What? What are you saying?

Your beautiful friend has gone to kidnap your brother.

Hold on one damn minute. My brother?

You have forgotten your father’s past.

    That’s right! Jim suddenly remembered.

What about the law? Jim said.

Enough, no time for chit chat. Must get you out of here before they arrive and shut you up forever.

They? Who are they? Wait where are you going?

Spitfire left Jim’s room and headed for the receptions desk to get Jim signed out. By the time he returned to Jim’s room, Jim was dressed and ready to leave.

Let’s go my friend. The clock is ticking.

    Right behind you. Jim said.

The two men left the room and headed down the hall to the elevators. Moments after they got aboard the elevator the power shut down. A sudden jolt caused the two to be startled.

What the hell? Jim cried out.

I told you, you made a lot of people angry.

    For the second time, who?

Everyone that belongs to Ramszy clan.

Hey, I did not pull the trigger that ended his life. It was by the hands of his own brother.

    They believe it was you.

    Why?

Take a wild guess. Spitfire replied.

That damn bitch. I catch her, not only will I kill her, but I will personally see that her operation is stopped. I do not care how long it takes.

    Good, you are hired.

Hold on, I still have to clear that through the Bureau.

    It is done.

    What has been done?

As we speak, your resignation is being handed to your boss.

Gee, thanks. I wonder who handled that. The man in black?

Yes my friend, now stop talking and think of a fast way to get out of this tin can.

Jim looked up toward the roof of the elevator; while Spitfire tried to pry open the doors.

Spit, help me up to the latch. Jim replied.

Moments later, the two men were on top of the elevator. Nothing like being in an elevator shaft while strangers are hunting you down. Just seconds after Jim and Spitfire got on the top of the elevator, the power came back on. Someone had turned the power back on. The elevator started to descend down the shaft. Both men hanging on tight. Then it stopped. Then it started to rise up the shaft. The elevator was going up closer and closer to the top floor of the hospital.

Danger was upon them if the elevator did not stop soon. The air in the shaft was being pushed on the two men with a mighty force. The closer the elevator came to the top the air pushed heavier. In fear for their lives, both men lied down on the top of the elevator. If they were going to be crushed they wanted to see death. It would be a better feeling seeing it coming. The elevator climbed as the top floor drew closer. The air pushed and pushed, which made it hard to keep their eyes open. As the top floor was upon the two, yells of terror poured out of their mouths.

Just as the top floor was almost on them, Jim put his hands up to stop the blow. A natural reflect. The elevator halted. Jim slowly opened his eyes, one by one. They had not been crushed. A few more feet and they would have been elevator sandwiches. Spitfire leaned his head to left of him to glance at Jim.

You alright, my friend? Spoke Spitfire.

Ugh, yes. I think so. Jim said.

Minutes later the elevator started to descend. The two men quickly rose up to hang on.

    OH shit! Cried out spitfire.

Spit, we have to make a jump for the ladder on the wall.

    What, you are crazy Jim.

As the elevator went down, Jim made a quick jump to the ladder. He safely made it.

Spit come on. I did it, you can too.

The elevator descended further. Spitfire was almost in a stage of panic, and then he jumped. He made it. The elevator stopped a couple of floors beneath the two. Jim had climbed up to an air vent that was big enough to fit in. Two men proceeded to get in the elevator. They were part of the crew that Spitfire told Jim that wanted him dead. They spoke in a foreign language and Jim immediately recognized it.

Meanwhile Spitfire was mumbling about the whole incident, Jim used his hands to hush him up. He waved his hands around to get his attention. Spit looked directly above him to see that and when he did that his pistol fell out of its holster and fell down toward the elevator. Both men watched as the gun proceeded to hit the top of the elevator.

A loud thud ringed the shaft as terror drew in the eyes of the men. The two terrorist stopped talking inside the elevator. This was not good for Jim and Spitfire. They both knew at any second that elevator shaft could be bombarded with terrorist. Spitfire climbed the ladder steps toward Jim. The elevator once again moved up toward the men. Just a few feet from the air vent shaft the elevator stopped. It stopped exactly between Spitfire and Jim in the air shaft.

Meanwhile inside the elevator the men climbed to the opening on the ceiling of the elevator. Jim could not see what was going on due to the lighting in the shaft was dimmed out by the blocking of the elevator. Spitfire, pinned between the wall and the lift, was motionless and silent.

The two terrorist had climbed to the top and were scoping out the thud. One man noticed the Berretta lying next to one of the oily cables. He picked it up and showed it to the other terrorist. Both men then turned to look around to see if they could find anyone in sight. The tension grew larger as the men stood on top of the elevator. Spitfire was in a state of sweating.

After the two terrorist had finished their search, they climbed back into the elevator and descended down to the first floor. Moments passed before Jim called out for his friend.

    Spit. You still there?

Yes, but I feel as if I was just put into a crusher.

Shut up, you’re still alive. Get up here. Let’s get out of here. Jim replied.

Spitfire collected his thoughts and proceeded up to the air shaft. Both men crawled in the air vent to they came to another air vent that lead upward.

    Now what? Spitfire said.

We have to climb the air vent to the top floor.

My friend you are freaking crazy. The nurse must have given you too much medication. I am not climbing that.

Find stay here and rot in this vent.

You damn Americans. You all think you are Indiana Jones.

    What’s that you are saying?

Nothing (pauses) nothing, my friend. Shaking his head in non agreement with Jim.

Well stop mumbling and get the hell up here.

Jim started to climb the vent. It was not going to be easy; seeing there was no ladder to climb. He used his back against one side of the vent and pushed up with his feet from the other side. Spitfire still refused to go any further until he heard faint voices from back at the beginning of the air vent.

Jim! They are coming. Yelled quietly Spitfire.

Get up here and let’s get out of here. Replied Jim.

Jim and Spitfire moved swiftly upward, as the voices grew louder. They came upon a level part of the air vent. As soon as Jim climbed into the level vent, he froze.

    Let’s go. Spitfire said.

    Shh! Jim quickly responded.

    I hear rats.

    RATS? Cried out Spitfire.

Shh. Jim spoke a second time.

The next thing Jim knew, a rat jumped onto him. Jim jerked hysterically, causing the rat to fall down the air vent. He hated rats with a passion. The rat landed on Spitfire, right on his legs. He could not see the rat, but he knew if he moved slightly, the rat would get scared and bite him in retaliation.

Jim. It is on my legs.

    Shake it off. Responded Jim.

NO. No it will bite me.

Just do it, we need to move.

Jim, I can’t see it but I can feel it and its moving on my leg.

Look, if you don’t shake it I will personally come down there and bite you.

Anyone ever tell you that you are freaking crazy?

Yeah, you, all the time! So come on.

Well it is true my friend, you are CRAZY!"

Spitfire slowly moved his legs to get rid of the rat. He didn’t move them too much; he didn’t want to lose his footing against the air vent wall. The voices were right at the bottom of the vent. Seconds later the rat dropped off his leg. The rat plunged down the vent.

At the bottom of the vent, three terrorist had found out where Jim and Spitfire had gone to. Meanwhile, Jim and Spitfire moved eastward in the vent. Still at the bottom of the air vent, the three terrorist gathered amongst themselves to figure out how to get up the vent. Back in the vent up above, Jim and Spitfire were still on the move.

Suddenly Jim noticed a bright light shining through the vent. It was an opening to the top floor. The only thing that was wrong, the grill of the vent door was sealed shut by screws.

Damn. It will not open. Jim spoke.

My friend this is no time for jokes.

I’m not joking around. It will not open.

Kick it, do something, they will catch us soon.

Crawl back and I’ll give it a kick. Replied Jim.

Spitfire shoved himself back and Jim a little too, and kicked it once. Nothing much happen. The air vent that they were trying to get out of was in a hallway that was in a really important place. It was just down the hall from the secretary’s desk. A passing security guard had heard the noise and stopped to check it out.

Hey, who is in there? Spoke the security guard.

No answer came out of the air vent. The security guard asks the question again. Jim leaned forward just enough to see through the vent. He saw that it was a guard and spoke to him.

    Agent Deliviki from the FBI.

    What? FBI…in there…why?

"Listen sir, we have no time for
