About this ebook
This is an attempt to describe the lineage of a number of prophets together with their brief background information and their sons etc.
Many books have been written on the history of Islam, history of the
prophets, their biographies and the biography of Prophet Mohammad
(pbuh) etc. However, no attempt has ever been made that tells the reader as
to where all the prophets came from, who was their father, grand father etc.
Most importantly, no endeavour to depict their lineage by connecting the
prophets to the first man on earth: prophet Adam (pbuh).Syed Naim
Born in India and graduated in Electronic Engineering from London University I spent nearly 12 years working in Europe as a software architect. It was during this period that I asked myself a question as to who am I and the answer was I am a Muslim. Next question was who our leader is and the answer was prophet Mohammed (SAW). I realised then that I know nothing about him i.e. who was his father, grand father etc. So I began to start reading about his biography. I read numerous books especially by Martin Ling, The final Nectar etc. I then went through books on other prophets written by Ibn Khatir, Suzanne Haneef etc. It was then that the idea came to my mind as to tracing the lineage of the prophets, so I began to gather data which resulted in this booklet. I am indebted to my grandson Yusuf Naim who at the tender age of 8 made so much effort to design both the front and back cover for the booklet.

i. Introduction
This is an attempt to describe the lineage of a number of prophets together with their brief background information and their sons etc. Many books have been written on the history of Islam, history of the prophets, their biographies and the biography of Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) etc. However, no attempt has ever been made that tells the reader as to where all the prophets came from, who was their father, grand father etc.
Most importantly, no endeavour to depict their lineage by connecting the prophets to the first man on earth: prophet Adam (pbuh). This book-or rather booklet-starts from the first prophet Adam (pbuh) with some brief background information about him and his sons. The lineage continues up to the final messenger prophet Mohammad (SAW) and then continues to the caliphs. For each of the prophet or his offspring brief back ground information is mentioned in order for the reader to understand the history of mankind. This booklet is intended primarily for the People of the Book i.e. Muslims, Christians and the Jews in order for them to know who their ancestors were and what was their background, what happened to them etc. I consider this to be a rather unique project in the sense that in my 16 years of Islamic study I did not come across any book that gives the prophetic information as comprehensively as this.
