About this ebook

Ladies and gentlemen what you are holding in your hands right now and about to read is the Haitian people's complaint to the world; it is their will and their vision for a new Haiti. It is the dreams and hopes of the new generation; it is a tool to help guide the Haitian people in the transition from politicians that have made questionable choices to the new visionary leaders, a tool to assist them in the process of transformation from misery to prosperity and wellbeing. This is a book that going to bring to the light who are responsible for Haitian people's misery and will explain also the self-denial of a group of Haitian in Haiti and overseas for the cause of Haiti and for the benefit of the Haitian people. This book will explain an extraordinary story of an ordinary man who has vision for Haiti's struggle. His father was murdered, his mother got kidnapped and was robbed three times, all because they spoke out for a better life, and they spoke out for peace and justice in Haiti.

From 1804 to 2010, exactly 206 years of independence and 206 years of calamity, humiliation, isolation and corruption, after all those years it's still raising some fundamental questions how much more the Haitian people have to endure? How long they have to wait to get help? After the earthquake, the entire world sympathized with Haiti and gave billions to leaders and to non profit organizations that has been established in this country for years to help the people and to rebuild Haiti. After four months, yet nothing has been done and in the capital I know many hurting people who haven't received any help, not even a bottle of water. In the mean time people continue to die, suffer, and among them tension starts raising high and in my point of view, I don't see any evidence that those leaders in this country has any desire to make any changes in the direction of better quality of life for the Haitian people. Today I am seeking justice in a very different and unusual way, I want to establish for the first time in Haiti rules and principles that can't be violated by anyone and prove to the world how an ordinary man can really do an extraordinary change in a country known as a land of corruption, a land of poverty and impunity.

His family taught him that any behavior outside of the rules can cause all kinds of consequences, all sorts of risks, and very serious penalties, and what they taught him really makes a big difference in his life today. Rameau's family taught him about great integrity, and they taught him about honesty and love. The tragedy on January 12, 2010 gives him strong evidence and open up a way for many people around the world on discovering how, why, and under what circumstances that those innocent people facing so much difficulties, so much dangers and the people also about to agree with him when he said that the Haitian people's life has been devastated by these politicians greed.

Having completing the Haitian people’s book at a critical time where these people desperately need their voices to be heard around the world, should make me very proud and very happy, but instead I’m very sad, because many friends whose visions and their grandiose thinking were always impressing me, always kept me encouraging and supporting to their ideas, people who helped me to make the hearing of Haiti possible, but they’re not around to share the joyous times with me. They perished in the earthquake. My heart broke to see the completion of my book comes with bitter sweetness, but it is certain that the seed of unconditional love they showed to their country will always be present in my life and into the remaining young people’s lives. This book is dedicated to them. I don’t know how to begin to thank the multitude of people and leaders around the world who have helped my country and my people during this tragedy. How ever, let me start with President Obama, former President Bill Clinton, the secretary of the states Hillary Clinton, Governor Jodi Rell, the patriot Wyclef Jean, Congressman Jim Himes who are really wanted to help Haiti. Saying thanks to you guys is really inadequate when it comes to all that you have done to help my people. Mister President, even though certain people who doesn’t know Haiti’s history asking a damn question: why does Haiti matter so much to you and to the American people? They forget if you are the world leader and you were campaigning with promise to help every one, rich or poor, every country, even Haiti. You are helping Haiti, because you know the history between Haiti and the United states. You want to help Haiti, because you have a great sense of humanitarian and understand the value of human life. They forget if America is one of the most compassionate nations in the world. That’s why Haiti matters so much to you and to the American people. In the pass, some governments saw Haiti as a worthless country, but today, your administration acting in the most unusual way toward Haiti and wanted to prove to the Haitian people that your government is not less concern about the Haiti’s situation. I have been aware by becoming the President of this great nation that God has placed you in his path and leading my innocent people to you for help at a moment that they need a President like you most. You are coming to power at a critical time and facing strong oppositions and also I’m becoming aware of your limitations as President, because you have to deal with the United States congress and many other institutions in this country, but this is not a big deal, they also were showing great concerns about Haiti after the earthquake. They love Haiti and they like to help to turn things around in Haiti, therefore Mister President, you cannot leave my people alone in their struggle. I know that I shouldn’t tell you what to do, but at the same time, I feel that I should ask you for something spectacular, something objective and tangible which will be a gift not to the Haitian people , but a gift to God, first: please help rebuild Haiti as quick as possible. Second: please try to find the better way to ease the people’s suffering until the leadership has been restored, third: please delay the election until we are introducing to you the young visionary leader who can follow the Haitian people’s will and continue your legacy in Haiti. We all can see, you utilized your strong skills to the fullest in order to get things done, Mister President, for your sacrifice and your kindness, your government will be abundantly blessed and you will accomplish with our prayers things that above and beyond any expectation. Special thanks to President Nicolas Sarkozy; I think that you made a very important point in your speech about the suffering people in Haiti and about the corrupt politicians.

Special thanks to the staff of CNN, especially Anderson Cooper, Doctor Sanjay Gupta, Ivan Watson, Larry King, Christiana Amanpour, George Clooney, Sean Penn, World Vision, Save the children, the States Department, the US Military and others. You are all our heroes and thank you, thank you, thank you so much for helping our people; please understand there is no easy way out for Haiti right now, therefore helping Haiti should be timeless, please hang on with us and keep up with the good work. In recognition, I hope that your names will be found some place in the history of Haiti. I was pleasantly blown a way when Dominican President, Lionel Fernandez opened the border and let some injured people cross over for medical assistance. Thank you Mister President. This book is dedicated to all who are helping my country, to those who fight for peace and justice. I was excited when I had read a news paper that said: "Son Excellence Mr. Abdoulaye Wade, President of Senegal offered help and wanted to repatriate some Haitians who were struggling for years by some invisible hands who even said that Haitian people should never live in peace and the remaining people would probably never leave Haiti alive, people who also have been deceived by the power of wicked politicians who live their whole lives in stolen billions without regard for the country and for the suffering people, the politicians can’t provide even a shovel that someone can use to save one life and no need to talk about hospitals, police cars, fire engines and roads to help the rescue effort. People who are struggling by floods, and finally by the unexpected brutality of this earthquake, as a result, many of them is already succumbed with depression and diseases, succumbed to drink and drugs. I am not living in Haiti right now, and where I reside I got my own problems to keep me occupied, but I’m deeply afflicted by the situation and I faced a lot of sleepless nights which is irritating my eyes and causing them to tears day after day, because my relatives and my friends are not exempt, they also sleep on deserted streets between dead bodies. I became convinced that this situation is not only my own heartache; it’s also very close to everyone’s heartache and Leaders better believe it is most urgent that they let the power of love overcomes the love of power and money and give this dangerous situation their immediate attention. Mr. Abdoulaye thank you and I am very impressed by your response to the earthquake victims and your offer for the victims to come reside in Senegal, it’s really encouraging and I hope other countries especially the United States, France or Canada, show the same good example as Senegal in bailing out the suffering people in Haiti. Because until now no one knows how the remaining Haitians will get through this situation. Mr. President I am very proud because you felt a rush of compassion to help my people while the heart of others filled with darkness don’t see these great people as a human being, they always treated these people very bad and give them a strange look as if they find them disgusting. Mr. President, by a certain time of life, to have started all over again cannot be a pleasure. I realize your government will help the Haitian Patriots Movement in our pursuit to save the people and to ensure that the young people get good education, because we can’t talk about change in Haiti without talking about education first. Therefore what is really matter for (H P M) Haitian Patriots Movement right now is to start immediately with the enrollment process of scholarship for the remaining students? I propose to you Mr. President just like I have been telling every other country that is the best to start first and immediately with some scholarships for Haitian students and help the Haitian Patriot’s Movement to find a way to put a real government in Haiti. While I am waiting for everyone’s reply, I’m asking you please to remain focused and very strong on Haiti’s case until together we wipe out junks and evil in Haiti. I am enormously grateful to the Reverend Pastor Curtis Lindley of grace Baptist church of Norwalk. Not only he’s wonderful to the Haitian community, but he also gives me a wonderful advice.

My profound thanks to all those people whose encouragement and friendship helped make this book a reality: Fequiere Celestin preacher and teacher, Virgile Ulysse architect, my daughters, Bertude Pierre medical school student, and Esterline Pierre. My heartfelt gratitude to my sons, Walther Pierre, economic science student and Jean Rameau Pierre, high school student; to Sarah Mann, for her contribution; and to my incomparable seventeen year old boy, Gregory Vixama, for his assistance during the many months it took to write this true story. Lastly, but more importantly and above anything else, I acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ, without whom I would be lost and failed in my humanness; the help he gave me is far beyond ordinary and through his comfort, strength and grace I find enough inspiration to write this book for my country.

    Introduction

This is an extraordinary story of an ordinary man who has vision for Haiti’s struggle. Jean’s mother was murdered, my mother got kidnapped and was robbed three times, and my father was murdered, all because they spoke out for a better life, they spoke out for peace and justice in Haiti. But who is responsible? Who should be blamed for Haiti’s failure? Haitian leaders? Bad policy towards the country? Haitian people? Or all of the above? Readers will find out, because this book will bring to the light that’s to blame. From 1804 to 2010,exactly 206 years of independent and 206 years of calamity, humiliation, isolation and corruption. After all these years it’s still raising some fundamental questions how much more the Haitian people have to endure? How long do they have to wait to get help? After the earthquake, the entire world sympathized with Haiti and gave billions to leaders and to non-profit organizations that been established in this country for years to help the people and to rebuild Haiti. After four months, yet nothing done and in the capital I know many hurting people who doesn’t receive any help, not even a bottle of water. Mean time, people continue to die, people continue to suffer and among them tension starts raising high. Is that the Haitian leaders, the non profit organizations, and other individuals who prosecute Haiti going to have a change heart to stop making those people suffer and stop making Haiti an unpleasant place to visit and to live? Until today in our worse tragedy some illiterate and foolish politicians after all those acts dishonest they perpetrated in Haiti are still running their mouths and tried to perturb peace in order to stop the international communities efforts particularly former president Bill Clinton who even don’t feel too good, but traveling back and forth in Haiti to find the best way to help rebuild the country. For all his work, instead of very great full, those corrupt and incompetent politicians who believed that they should be everlasting the pass and everlasting the future in Haiti’s politic while they’re taking their hearts far away from the people, still running their mouths against this world of opportunity that’s in the road to ward Haiti. The fact that majority of Haitian leaders never serve the people, now they must understand that their time is over it’s not for them to decide and it would be best for them to stay quiet and let the expatriates and the international communities help the people until leadership restored. Ladies and gentlemen Haitians people confronting with thing that they cannot understand and facing an out of control corruption in the country that is beyond imagination, if the people don’t understand, but I understand because I am not adventuring to an area that I am not familiar with, I was suffering and humiliated too, I used to watch hopelessly my people suffering, got robbed, beating and killed. I said hopelessly, because I was paralyzed with fear, today, especially after this earthquake I cannot throw out the truth and I have not come to this point in my life to intimidate any one, I am simply desire to have dreams and visions for my country. In 1971 at age 14, the day I begin this journey I was so pride to be able to stand up for my people and to fallow their will, and I don’t think I have ever since then approached any other day that filled with so much Joyce and meaning. For nearly forty years, I have always tried to be on top of everything that’s concerning Haiti, I may always struggle to understand my life’s purpose, but I have never struggled with giving myself and everything I have to my fellow citizens and others which caused my life has become almost inexistent. However, I simply hope that the one, who has given me this mission, will be visible in my actions when I introduce myself and the new generation to the world as a people of peace and as a people who want to bring life where there is no life. Now I am following the illustration of the American people and friends around the world, because they are people who promoting the idea to write this book about Haiti, they are the people who have great attitude of love toward their follow human being, they understand also that there is no proud for an individual or a nation to struggle an other nation and this quality do not reference to any other people beside Haitians, but to American people. They are promoting the idea and asking me to write this book, because they want to know who should be held accountable for Haiti misery. If today we have solutions to offer; thanks to them and we are going to prove to the world how an ordinary small groups of charitable people can really do an extraordinary change in a country known as a land of corruption, a land of poverty and impunity. We decide to end these things in this small island which is belong to all of us and should be a place of entertainment and retirement for every one. Today Jean and I are seeking justice in a very different and unusual way, we want to become a glue that been holding the Haitian people together. We want to establish, for the first time in Haiti rules and the principles that cannot be violated by anyone, and we want to make sure that the Haitian people get the services they deserve. At the age of twelve we had great compassion for our people, and day after day, we have more and more compassion for those unfortunate people because we came from the masses and we are among them; therefore, we cannot love them less than the level of love that God set in our lives for our people, for our neighborhood, and even for our enemies. This is the extreme situation that the real Haitian patriots have to deal with, and we have an obligation to tell the public and the world about the disloyal politicians; they will be able to take action that has been long overdue. Leadership needs to be taking away from the politicians who dominated, scared the public and the media, who always use dirty tricks to commit murder in order to stay in power and rob the country. Together, a strategic campaign team on a mission for Haiti’s struggle is launching a massive national and international operation. As a compassionate group of Haitian patriots, we are trying to find a practical way to help and offer comfort to those who have suffered due to politicians’ greed and natural disasters in Haiti .We declared Haiti to be in a state of emergency, and we are trying to touch more than fifty million hearts around the world in order to save Haiti. The plaintive voices of the Haitian people to the world and their dreams for a new Haiti have a four decade history and this amazing book will give everyone a chance to explore the complex situation that led this nation into tragedy, and it will help people to identify those who are responsible. You will want to hold onto this book because it reveals the past, the present, and the future, and it will be never outdated.

When I decided to write this book in 2008, my youngest son asked me, dad what is the title of the book? I said Plaintive Voices of Haiti to the World. He asked me, Where did you get this name from? I started to explain him what was happening: as I always in tears and lamented each day the misery and the bitter grief of the Haitian people. It seems to be an angel who has evidence of all my pains and my generosity to those people for many years, this angel who has also evidence that I am inspired to do something different in Haiti and has evidence of my greatest desire to accompany the young Haitians to do a revolution in Haiti which will be for sure a revolution of economic, to accompany them to declare war against poverty, and corruption. This angel appeared one day before me and asked this question Rameau, are you not tired with the suffering and the plaintive voices of the people? During that moment tears began to trickle from my eyes, not because of the beauty of the angel, but because of the sad words that came from the angel’s mouth. And I have these kinds of dreams very often since 1971 until now, that’s why I have chosen the name: Plaintive Voices of Haiti to the World for my book. I started writing it many months prior to the earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010, I went to Haiti in January 2007, I saw Haiti’s capital as if it was a grenade waiting to get its pin pulled and ready to explode, I knew something eminent was going to happen soon. I thought it was an excellent idea to write a book, not only to tell the world about what happened to me, to my family, to my friends and the entire Haitian population, but to tell the world that something big is going to happen to the Haitian people and then Haiti is in an emergency situation. Unfortunately things happen exactly the way I predicted before my book is even published. Even though you are about to read something to which that you are no longer unaware but I still believe that its an excellent idea to go ahead and finish
