    Intro

The world of the seen and the world of the unseen come together when you practice the magick of healing. This is a wondrous gift that all who practice the Craft of the Wise naturally develop as these are the true arts of nature that are within and around us.

This book is a beginning book for Wiccans interested in the energy form of healing. I take for granted that the people who are reading this book are experienced Wiccans, Witches and Pagans. Whether you are a 1 st Degree Wiccan or a High Priestess or High Priest, a solitary learned Witch, a hereditary Witch, or a practicing Pagan, this book is a way of explaining to magickal energy workers the principles and practices of pure energy healing, called energetics which I consider a form of magick. This book is not a simplified guide to Wicca. So many books have been written that explain the basics of the Wiccan magickal arts. The book stores are now flooded with books from full Books of Shadows to how to cast a spell to tables of the moon, the planets, the herbs, and the way to make tools. Most books on the market today are geared to the beginning person interested in getting into Wicca. This book is for people already in the Craft or practicing a form of paganism. It is a book about energy healing, a long lost art that has been mostly ignored in recent years.

I am a hetero Dianic Priestess but I am also the Director and one of the teachers in Clearsight, a Clairvoyant Center and School that the Elder Priestesses in my coven formed in 1979. And so I am a professional Psychic, a Clairvoyant Teacher, an author and a Healer. As a Healer and a teacher of healing I feel that the time has come to share our skills with other pagans and witches.

In the last twenty-five years I have seen the Craft mushroom as the largest growing religion on the planet. Nowadays people do not have to go to old bookstores to search for rare magickal books as the mainstream bookstores in every city carry books on the Craft. But most of these books are totally geared to the beginner or to re-explaining the Wheel of the Year, the Seasonal Festivals and the practices of the Craft. This is not that type of book. If you are not in the Craft, a genetic or solitary Witch or a practicing Pagan you will find some references in this book that perhaps only initiated Wiccans or studious solitary Witches and practicing Pagans would understand. This is a book about energy healing for people who know how to use energy but who do not always apply those skills to healing. It is an introduction for Craft people into the most ancient skill on the planet of Laying-On-Of-Hands. I hope to de-mystify many concepts about energy healing and re-introduce the art of energy healing to the Craft.

If you delve into the history of the past in Europe you will find that witches were healers. However, It is not that all witches were healers. In every village there was usually one wise woman whom the villagers went to for their physical ailments and emotional problems. In every pagan group or in later days when specific covens were existent there was at least one person (and often more than one person) who was very knowledgeable in the arts of healing.

I believe that healing is one of the oldest magickal art on this planet. The first magickal art was probably hunting and gathering magick. This is obvious since if we view our ancestors in simply a survival mode they had to eat, have shelter, and care for their health. Eating was hunting and gathering. We can see ancient cave paintings that show the magickal hunt. Shelter was often a cave which became the nurturing sheltering womb of mother earth. And healing was the process of caring for the human body, mind and spirit.

Wiccan healing has been practiced for centuries and is usually practiced in the following manner:

Group work in circle where energy is sent to people who have an ailment

Herbs for healing an ailment poultices, elixirs, etc.

Singular work done inside a consecrated circle

Spells done by an individual witch for releaving an ailment

Special Rituals to heal a particular condition or create wellness or rebirth of spirit or body

Touching of part of a body to draw out pain or illness

Almost all of the healing arts were handed down by the practitioner to an apprentice or a family member. Much of the spell art of healing has been lost due to the burning times. The art of touching the body to draw out pain, stuck energy or entities was often practiced by natural healers who mostly accomplished this process without even thinking. Whatever was taught here has largely been lost. But you can still find witches who in cases of need will automatically walk over to someone and touch their pained area and draw out the energy without even knowing on a conscious level just what they are doing.

All people are natural healers and it is especially in the nature of a Wiccan Priestess to feel a need to help and heal. The art of healing comes naturally to all but in modern times many people do not give themselves the permission to do this. Modern healers often tell people that only special people are gifted to be healers. Some people fear to do healing that they will take on the illness into their own body. Mostly people are afraid to do something they have not been told works or have not done before. Permission is the key to healing. Nowadays when we teach Healing we give permission to people to get in touch with their own natural ability. Priestesses and Priests of the Old Religion know well that the power is both within us (as we are a mirror of nature) and outside of us in all of the nature surrounding us. This power can help and heal all if you so use it in that manner. Anyone can do this as it comes naturally and the only reason we do not do this is our fear of our own power.

In the Medieval era there was a Church dominated society that had a very strong dogma and none dared to oppose it. For centuries the organized Church elders took the power away from people by convincing them to believe specific ideology that made them always dependent on the Church.

Then Church coerced people into believing in a life everlasting heaven so they did not have to work on themselves to improve themselves but simply tithe money to the Church to get into its heavenly paradise. At that time in European history the Church was the government and it made the laws for everyone. And so Healing also began to take a lesser place in the common life.

In 553 Ad the Church outlawed reincarnation. For many centuries everyone pagan and Christian alike believed in reincarnation, the concept of life after life. Suddenly the Church council decided it wanted to separate Christian from Pagan theology and create a more appealing concept. So they changed the concept of reincarnation, of life after life where you work out your learning and problems to the idea of life everlasting. By replacing the old pagan religious concept of life after life they believed they could win many more converts. Ralph Harvey, a British Traditional High Priest has coined this as an example of replacement theology.

When the Christian religion first came to the shores of Europe it was the New Religion. Over the centuries as it took hold and gained adherents the pagan religions then became the Old Religion. Later on in the times of Medieval Europe it took a period of over three hundred years to change people’s minds and literally using the techniques of fear, coercion and threat of punishment and torture to turn people’s minds. Life became so drab and difficult under the rule of the Church that life everlasting in a Christian heaven seemed like a wonderful paradise instead of being told you had to return over again and over in many lives to work out your karma, your problems and your learning. And so one day everyone believed in reincarnation and then the very next day after the Church declaration it was outlawed and you could be severely punished for believing in reincarnation and had to believe in the concept of life everlasting. Instantly the Church practiced replacement theology to rid the Church of pagan concepts that had been studied and practiced for thousands of years. Healing was often seen as a threat to the power of the local priest and either outlawed or relegated to the strange woman at the edge of town.

The Church Took Divinity from it’s adherents and gave them a Guardian Angel instead.

Originally the old Gnostic Mystery Schools believed and taught that divinity was within people. To reach the oneness of the God/Goddess head and the universal spirit of all you simply had to do was to connect with your Higher Self which was probably called the divine self or by other names in those more ancient times. Somewhere within a three hundred year period in Medieval Europe the Church using their techniques of replacement theology, changed the concept of higher or divine self to that of a Guardian Angel. Your Higher Self or Divine Self, as they would have said in more ancient times, gave you a direct connection to the immense, beautiful and knowledgeable oneness of universal life force—to the God/Goddess force directly. You did not need a priest as a go-between. But the Church could not retain its power and hold over the people if they could directly connect to God force so the Church slowly, over about three hundred years, shifted this concept of divine self to the idea of a guardian angel who watched over you. The Church then informed everyone that each person has a guardian angel. Of course angels care for you but they are messengers of God and as such are controlled directly by the Church male concept of a God. So thus, to get help from your Guardian Angel you would have to ask God and to do that you would have to go to your local priest as the go-between to communicate to God for you! And so you lost your Free Will and autonomy immediately!

In modern times people everywhere, in almost every culture, just love and adore the concept of angels and especially the idea of having your own special guardian angel who looks after you. But in reality only a special few have guardian angels. To have a Guardian Angel you have to be a hardship case where you need extreme help. Alcoholics, lost souls and confused people are the stereotypes of people who actually get a Guardian Angel. The rest of us have our own Higher Selves, our divine nature that is supposed to guide and help us.

Whenever there is an angel in a room the energy in the room raises up and a kind of beatific love fills the room so the area seems radiant and filled with a kind of beautiful shining light. Angels raise the power of the light force in whatever area they are in. I have seen angels many times but not as guardian angels. In over 35 years of viewing people and their auras clairvoyantly as a professional psychic I have only seen a true Guardian angel once. But of course, every person has a Higher Self or what the ancients called, a divine self! And of course it is your divine self that can connect you to the Goddess and the Gods, to the loving nature of the universe and to the nature of higher consciousness. It is your own divine self that looks after you! It is your divine self, your true guardian angel that helps and heals you naturally!

I have written this book specifically for the Wiccans, Pagans and Witches who have lost their connection with the healing process that once was the true backbone of all witches (both coven witches, hereditary witches and hedge witches.) While surfing the Internet Witchy chat lines I have discovered many fearful witches writing in and making the most depressing statements. I am bleeding internally but I am afraid to go to a hospital and I do not know what to do! My baby is due soon but I am having these horrible pains and I am afraid to go to a doctor. I have had this allergy and am having trouble breathing but I do not know what to do. We witches, who were once the finest healers of all of Europe (and perhaps the entire planet), are now relegated to living in fear. Many witches do not want to approach doctors and this is quite understandable.

Many doctors practice medicine by rote without much compassion, use medicine that does not cure but simply shifts the symptoms and often have no understanding of the workings of the body as a whole process. But many witches who do not go to a doctor often also do not consider going to a Spiritual healer, a Holistic practitioner, a Homoeopathist, a Chinese healer or any alternative healer. Wiccans I know who do go to doctors when they encounter a serious health problem often go to the doctor before checking with their local spiritual or alternative healer. Often their condition could be cured naturally if addressed soon enough. When there is fear we often put off dealing with a physical condition. The earlier you deal with something that affects the body the easier it is to heal it.

Where there is fear there is power if you can turn that fear around or release it and therefore own the energy in a powerful changing way! The longer your body has to physically accept a problem the more it accepts it and holds on to it. I worked with one Elder Wiccan giving him Feverfew for circulation. Soon he discovered that it relieved his migraine headaches from a whiplash car accident. He never told me that he had headaches or I would have suggested Feverfew immediately since it is an old herbal standby for relieving headaches and swelling. The doctors have recently discovered this from the herbalists who lifted it from the healing witches. And then my Wiccan friend explained to me that in olden days witches used to take the bark of a tree and chew it and that relieved headaches and he believed this to be the original Feverfew. But upon having migraines from his accident did he go out into the woods and search out this bark he was taught about many years ago? No. He did not. He simply suffered with the migraines til I accidentally suggested Feverfew for a different ailment. And so I feel that we witches have lost touch with our roots and our true practices.

Not only do we not practice healing in the manner we used to in the past but we do not even heal ourselves. I feel we have de-evolved and sunk into a form of fear and ignorance. Many witches tend to avoid doctors, do not trust or know of alternative healers and only practice healing arts in situations of severe dire necessity. Now to take the other side, I have met several British Traditional witches who are in covens that strongly consider themselves healing covens. They have healed people of cancer and many maladies using group circle healing and they do know the old herbal arts. But when relatives get ill and it is not severe but an accident, a cut, a fall, a smaller malady they know to get out their oils and herbs but few know how to use their spiritual ability to move the energy immediately.

In this book I am primarily addressing two issues: that of you, the individual, getting in touch with your clairvoyant healing ability to use it in everyday life; and the ability to do an energetic healing on the spot when there is no time or space for ritual and something must be done in the immediate. The ritualists who do healing work do amazing and profoundly moving workings that can heal the soul, expunge illness and even banish unwanted spirits. But in the moment on a daily level energetics is a useful and viable way to heal and few witches I know have this as one of their learned tools or abilities. It is not that they cannot do it. It is simply that they have not learned it, or sometimes do not believe that they have this special healing or psychic ability. Doing ritual invocation and evocation, celebrating the Wiccan holy times and studying the Arts eventually develops a person’s psychic and intuitive ability. But to me this has always been the long road. With energetics you can develop your intuitive and psychic nature in a much faster, more controlled and learned manner in a tried and true path, a system that always works if followed and practiced.

There are a few American witches who are now beginning to realize just how important healing skills can be and are exploring combining the holistic health arts, the simple rules of natural healing with their herbs, oils and ritual and seeking to be the new healers and Wiccan counselors of the Twentieth Century. I believe that they are the forerunners of the Craft of forward perspective. However, I have not written this book for them but for those who have not as yet sought to find their green nature but need to find their healing source as truly the Craft Rule of first is to help and to heal!

Many of the old arts have been lost and few know how to use energy on the spot to heal and help. The techniques in this book are carried over from both ancient Egyptian traditions, filtered through the European mystery schools, redefined, modernized and redeveloped by Lewis Bostwick and many of his early psychic students and then redefined further developed by myself and the students and Staff of Clearsight. I have used my Wiccan past lives and my psychic abilities to show people how to access the unconscious mind, to heal with pure energy, to cure instantly, to shift stuck energy in the body and release it. Some of these are truly ancient techniques I have resurrected and others are modern adaptations I have created to fill in the gaps. However none of the information presented in this book is oathbound.

Whether you use the skills I present in this book or other healing skills is up to you. The modern quandary we Witches, Wiccans and Pagans face is to use some healing techniques and to resurrect our heritage as healers to help and heal as Priests and Priestesses. I chose to present my particular healing skills which I find work really well for me. If you do not find these skills to be compatible with you perhaps you will find other healing skills you can employ. I have written this book after meeting so many Wiccans whose eyes glaze over and act bored when I mention the word healing as if it is an old, archaic and useless practice they eschew in favor of drumming, politics, historical research and ritual. I drum, I research and I do ritual but I have found that healing is the art that can make all of this even more powerful and that is why I am introducing it here in this book. If you do not like my particular concept or aspect of healing I do implore you to find the type of healing you do have a passion for. All humans need healing. Healing is the divine act of sharing and showing love for another human being.

    Chapter 1 What is Magick?

    041165%20rose%20pentacle%20C1.jpg

    And so Magick was born

She who is the Goddess of Chaos is now known by many other names but at one time she was the holy ruler of all that is. She who truly loved her chaos was content but she also yearned for that which held form, for her children to be, and so she changed her chaos to create a world into which we all were born.

The Goddess of Chaos lifted her head. She whose luminous eyes glowed in the primeval mist of swirling energies gazed upon her creation. Through the mist of timelessness the Goddess smiled upon the manner of her swirling chaos and decided that the time had come to create true time and space, form and matter, light and dark, and so came into being the sky and earth. In the sky She created the stars to tell the stories of humankind and to move as a panorama of time. Her consort, He who is the Bright One, brought her the sun to sit in the sky during the daytime. And her mother, the Great Birth Giver of All, brought her a mirror to hold in the night sky so she could reflect the light of the Bright One for all to see her world, even in the darkness.

And so the earth came into being for the Goddess created the earth as a home where all creatures big and small could exist in harmony together. In the depths of the earth she created the birthing caves and from there she gave birth to the sacred children of the Goddess. And she taught her children the secrets of how to master chaos, to bring thoughts, wishes and desires into being and so magick was born.

    What is magick?

Magick is the art of shifting, changing, bending or turning nature. It is the sacred but fun act of moving energy. Anyone can do magick.

One of the most powerful aspects of magick is that of healing. When you do good magick it is as if you never did anything at all since the universe just gives to you what you asked for. When you heal you are shifting and changing a person on the most basic down to earth way you can on this planet. You are changing the person’s physical nature. The strongest magick on this planet is when you can move the physical nature of something.

Most Wiccans, Witches and Pagans practice spell craft. But mostly when people think of casting a spell nowadays they think of doing a love spell, an abundance spell, a spell for protection, and a spell for safe travel. Few people do spells for healing. The art of crafting a spell to bend or twist or turn nature to get a specific end is one of the most ancient of the arts on this planet.

There are many forms of magick. Most of the very ancient magickal workings for healings have been lost in the centuries of wars, changing of pagan pantheons, the burning of the Alexandrian library and the Christianizing of Europe. Some healing spells were handed down in the Grandmother fashion through the magickal family line but much was lost. However we do still know the basic principles of how magick works and so can always apply this to any spell for healing.

    Spells, energetics and healing

An ancient magickal healing spell might go as follows:

    Sickness and ill health

    I say to thee

Flow into the iron and away from me

    Begone, begone, begone from me

And as I say, So mote it be!

(Hold an iron nail when you say this and bury it in the ground with the top head exposed.)

    And newer versions:

    I wish I may, I wish I might

Cast this illness from my sight.

    Pain and illness flow away

I Cast thee out into the Bay.

I cast thee out into the brook

I cast thee out into the stream

I cast thee out into the river

To flow far away into the Bay.

    Flow away, far, far away

Into the brook, stream, river and Bay

That my body may be whole and in good health on this day.

    Example:

(Person takes a stone and rubs headache or illness in part of body with it and then throws it into a running stream.)

Headache away, Out. Gone. Be banished from my head.

As the sun sets and the light flows away into the night

So shall my headache run from me to be gone by morning

And me refreshed next mornin in my bed.

Banished be gone. Banished away with thee,

    Away, away, away Begone!

(You can take a stone, rub it on the hurting part of the body where the headache is and then bury it in the earth.)

    Casting Your Spell

The secrets of the ancient healing spells were sometimes in the use of the powerful words, which was the use of emphasis, rhyme, rhythm and symbolism but also of working with the energy too. All put together this was powerful and often would work well and be successful.

To do a spell working for healing one has to pronounce the words as power words, vibrating them on the inner planes, filling them with energy that is heard deeply on both the physical and vibrational planes of awareness. The words should rhyme if possible and there should be rhythm, meter and it should be said as if chanting a drum song. A good spell can be said once but also it can be repeated three, five or seven times or even chanted or sung for half an hour til there is a proper build up of energy. An experienced practitioner of spells might say it once with the gusto of fervency with the drum rhythm building and the symbolism obvious. The spell should be energetically filled with the light power and sent off properly to manifest. Whatever needs to be done physically (burying of nail, wrapping or unwrapping of healee with red thread, cord or washing/rubbing with stone and then throwing stone in running stream or burying it) should be done at that time. All materials used should be of natural origin and blessed and purified and filled with intention before using. Energetically the magickal healer should be able to grab the illness or the person’s energy to make the spell work, depending on the intention and use.

    The Ancient Healing Spells

Many of the ancient spells were worked simply and easily. Symbolism and the concept of like to like played strongly in the making of a spell. A symbol of the illness or of the organ involved would be used. Any natural piece of nature that looked like the organ or ill area of the body would be used (a leaf, a rock, a plant, a root, a seed, and so on.) It would be blessed and ascribed with sigils or runic writing or magickal images energetically to represent the healee, to be as the healee and then the illness would be called into it and it would then be buried or hung on a tree or thrown in the running river to waste away or carry away the illness. In Egypt and Greece and many other countries figures made with wax would be used to be a stand in for a person to be healed. The power of words spoken as a chant or written down and worn around the neck of the ill person was seen as a healing tool.

The basic principles of magick have been used for healing spells for centuries. There seems to be little difference from ancient cave magick and the making of a spell for healing in our present time. Now we bless our artifacts before an altar where once it was probably blessed before the hearth fire by the most powerful healer of the tribe.

The few old spells that have come down through the centuries for healing are very simple indeed. Here are spells that are much more complex and wordy, developed by twentieth century magicians who are more complex in concept but the basic imagery and basic practices are still the same!

    A spell from me

    A spell for thee

A spell to heal the sickness you feel and see

A spell to reach the powers that be!

Illness be gone. Out from you.

I cast it out and make you new.

And as I say this, So mote it be!

    A spell from me

    A spell for thee,

    A spell for good health

    Shall come to be.

One for the fine red blood that runs through thee

Two for the breath that feeds your chest
