About this ebook

Real World Poetry contains a group of individual poems, which I wrote over a very extended period of time. Some few of these poems have singularly appeared in some of my other writings. The mood of these poems is intended to address the lack of objective truth within many of the major philosophies of the world's cultures, and to dress those wounds, of cognitive dissonance, with a dressing of hope and guidance towards a more reasonable outlook upon life, and of life's struggles to discover a meaningful perspective, which can be embraced by reasonable peoples, allowing them to find a guiding path to peace-of-mind, and some form of contentment within a world that everyday waxes and wanes between its self proclaimed ancient morals, which have grown so crumbly with time's passing, as to be without any substantial or meaningful substance.

    HISTORY and the INDIVIDUAL

    In all of nature’s life,

    throughout all of time,

    in every species,

    in every family,

    in every genus,

    it is the individual,

who bears the lonesome stamp of uniqueness.

    It is an individual,

    who is inevitability,

    and ultimately,

the survivor beyond its mother’s kind.

    It is the genotype,

    the individual,

    whose subtle differences,

like some artist’s gentle brush stroke,

    a mere blush of color,

a slight bend of a line,

the hint of a different texture,

that takes the new higher step up

    on nature’s subtle multifaceted staircase

that leads to a new tomorrow’s sunrise.

Nearly hidden in the ruckus drive of human history,

not noticed by those who can only see the main over-bearing

and exploding blaze of it all,

is the struggle for the individual to be free.

    The gross show,

is the ups and downs of tyrants and their empires.

Amongst the never-ending theatrical clamor of history,

where new tyrants in new disguises always occupy center stage,

    in the background of this,

    as a sweeter melody

    that refuses to be lost,

    is the continuous,

    never ending struggle

of the individual to be free,

    and this struggle,

although buried within the ramparts of history’s onward march,

is what the progress of history

    is secretly all about.

    KNOW ME

    If you could miss me,

as much as I miss you.

    Then you could love

    as much as I do.

    If you could feel

    my feelings true,

    Then you could know

the depths of my love for you.

    If you could know

    the height of my hopes,

    then you could know

    the best of them
