    The Saints

Saints are a particular class of believers canonized. Canonization is how the Catholic Church confers sainthood upon a person based on that person’s specific actions (deeds) (Compellingtruth.org, Copyright 2018).

The Catholics practice praying by asking for intercessions from the saints. The Bible directs us to invoke those in heaven and ask them to pray with us (Catholic Answers, n.d). Not only do those in heaven pray with us, but they also pray for us (Catholic Answers, n.d). In the book of Revelation, John sees that "the twenty-four elders (the leaders of the people of God in heaven) fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints (Revelation 5:8)".

Angels also do the same, as can be read in Revelation 8:3-4, An angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God (Catholic Answers, n.d).

Jesus is the only God-man and the Mediator of the New Covenant. Thus, Jesus is the only mediator between man and God (1 Timothy 2:5). But this is in no way that means we cannot or should not ask our fellow Christians to pray with us and for us (1 Timothy 2:1-4). In particular, we should ask for the intercession of those Christians in heaven who have already had their sanctification completed, for the prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects (James 5:16) (Catholic Answers, n.d).

One question has to be, do they hear us? As the Scripture has told us in Revelation 5:8, the saints offer prayers, our prayers.

The people who had been canonized as saints had also experienced turmoil, challenges, hardships, temptations, hopelessness, worries, anxieties, and all forms of problems and difficulties. Their hearts toward God through loving and serving their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. They are not perfect persons like us, but they have gone through life with faith, hope, and love. They may have stumbled countless times along the way, but they didn’t let failures and mistakes stop them from serving God and others. They tried their very hardest to imitate Jesus’ examples in their lives. They lived a life in the best way they knew in the way that they could glorify God and serve others.

    Prayers of the Saints

The saints also have their personal prayers.

This book is composed of prayers by the saints. This book will guide and help the readers in different occasions and situations to pray as what the saints had prayed when they were still living.

There’s nothing wrong if we pray the same prayers of the saints. What’s important is that God sees in us a pure intention to seek for Him.

As Jesus Christ has said, Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will also do; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.(John 14:12).

"The saints are models of human excellence, perfected by the life of Christ and the communication of His Spirit. They demonstrate how to really live and really die by their lives. They consistently point to the horizon of love which leads to the fulfillment of all human desire: eternal communion with the Holy Trinity." - Deacon Frederick Bartels

    Mama Mary

(Prayer for Acceptance to the Calling of God, and for Guidance and Strength from God)

"I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to Your Word."

    Magnificat (The Song of Mary)

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant. From this day, all generations will call me blessed:

the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is His Name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in every generation. He has shown the strength of His arm. He has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever."

Mama Mary was a young woman, engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, who was told by the Angel Gabriel that she would bear the Son of God. Mama Mary at first hesitated
