In this book, the author details a quick and simple method for calculating the man-hours required to erect carbon steel process piping.
For more than 40 years of his professional life, he served as construction and project director.
He founded and chaired a construction firm and industrial facilities for over a decade.
During his professional management, he was responsible for the construction and assembly of numerous chemical processing plants, refineries, gas pipelines and gas compressors, in his country and abroad. The author has done hundreds of calculations of estimates of direct labor consumption in all types of offers for extensions and reforms of existing industrial plants, or for the construction and industrial assembly of new turnkey installations and/or factories in different geographical regions. The hours of work indicated for each type of task in the Manual TABLES were practically verified during the assembly of each facility.
This publication describes a calculation procedure to estimate the direct labor required to erect above ground process piping, including its supporting and corrosion protection.
The detailed procedure was successfully employed by the author during his many years of work experience.

Gustavo Miguel Cinca was born in San Rafael, Argentina, and graduated as a Chemical Engineer with a Diploma of Honor from the UN in Cuyo. During his professional life, he worked as a construction manager and finally as the president of a Construction and Installation Company.During his career, he has built chemical process plants, refineries, gas pipelines, compressor plants and thermal power plants in the country and abroad.
