Mandy Harper was a cool kid. She had wavy blonde hair. She had dazzling blue eyes. She had a smile so bright it often knocked the other students over.

Mandy had three friends. Kimberlea, Paris, and Tasha. They followed Mandy around like lost puppies. Mandy was the leader of the school. She decided who was in and who was out.

Mandy, can I be one of the cool kids? Nia asked.

No, cool kids don't wear braces, Mandy scoffed.

Nia walked away in a tizzy.

Pshaw, cool kids have to be this tall. Mandy held her hands up way above Allison's head. Allison broke into tears and ran away crying.

Kayla walked up to Mandy. Do you know what you're doing?

"Yes, I'm deciding who is in and who is out," Mandy explained.
