EXCITEMENT TEMPERED by caution coursed through Faleena’s veins as the carriage swayed. She had never left Salia before, though her parents had taken her almost everywhere within the kingdom. But what made it even more exciting was that she was going to see the elves.

The education she had received had been the best any child of a mage could hope to receive. She had studied languages and different peoples and all forms of magic. However, elves had always seemed so elusive and secretive on their island in the south.
