GREAT WOMEN OF AFRICAN DESCENT is written at a time when much is being said and written about globalization, its discontents, pitfalls, achievements and the way forward to the realization of a common ground for trade, market and people, irrespective of background, creed, religion and color. Great Women of African Descent presents a bridge over a North-South divide that engulfed people, especially women of African background, from expressing and expending their capabilities in comparison to their counterparts or peers in the North.
The authors of Great Women of African Descent
have not only opened the corridor for globalizing and recognizing the talents of all peoples in a concerted way but set the pace for oneness of purpose, dignity and appreciation of talents and intellect of all across the globe.
The tremendous contributions of the Women who have been selected for this publication cannot be over stated. They continue to contribute and strengthen communities, serve as role models, give voices to the voiceless and provide economic power and advocate for social justice to many people around the world.
When the bell of eye-opening and liberation rings, the Artists of African descent mentioned in this publication finally and many more concretize theirs and followers voices through matching and crushing the minted and imaginary barracage and bridges connecting the North and South, their records are corrected from the dustbin of history and placed at historical core, the voices of the children of the South are heard and recognized, a total emancipation from the yoke of all suppressions, then we can argue that history is won. Let’s hope that we will continue witnessing that history making process.
GREAT WOMEN OF AFRICAN DESCENT is not only a must to read for this generation but an asset for succeeding generations to treasure and pass on.
