A Magical Christmas Night

About this ebook
Darius Salisbury is the fourth son of an English Earl and the boss of his own company. But being fabulously wealthy and the heir to land and titles has its drawbacks.
Darius has found that he is the target for every gold-digging woman on the planet, all desperate to land themselves the ultimate catch and live a life of unparalleled luxury.
So, he hatches a plan. Throwing a Christmas masquerade ball seems like a great idea. He can remain anonymous for the entire evening and use the opportunity to perhaps find himself a wife.
Sarah is one of Darius’ newest employees. She’s only been with the company for three weeks and now she finds herself at one of the biggest parties ever seen. And now she’s on a collision course with a man that she falls instantly for and who will change her life.
After a night of steamy passion, Sarah leaves. Darius is desperate to find her but has no way of knowing who she was. All that he is left with is her mask and a necklace.
Meanwhile, Sarah discovers that she has fallen pregnant with no way of telling the baby's father.
Can they find one another amidst the vastness of Darius Salisbury’s empire? Or will they just have to live with the memory of their one night together?

Chapter One
Aren’t you ready yet?
Sarah looked up from the book she was reading. No, I’m not going.
Oh yes you are,
Mandy stood there with her hands on her hips, her bosom almost falling out of her old-fashioned ball gown, and her blond curls falling over her left shoulder. Now go get ready.
Why? It’s only a Christmas work do.
Sarah said, placing her book on the coffee table.
Only a Christmas work do?
Mandy repeated, flabbergasted. This one is historic.
Really?
Sarah raised her eyebrow at her friend. And why is that?
Because,
Mandy hoisted up her skirt and sat next to her friend. This is the first Christmas work do that is involving everyone in the company.
How is that historic?
she frowned.
Oh yeah, you have only been there three weeks. Usually, every department has its own little get together in a pub or something, but this year, the big boss, Mr Salisbury, has declared that all must attend the Christmas ball. Even those who have only been at the company a day are to go, so that would include you as well.
Sarah gave her friend a lopsided smile. But—
No buts,
Mandy wrapped her arm around Sarah’s shoulder. This is perfect for you, ‘Miss fairy-tale Romantic’. You’ll be just like Cinderella.
Would that make you my ugly sister then?
Sarah laughed at the glare she received for that comment.
Very funny, now come on, let’s get you ready.
Sarah grabbed her friend's hand and let her lead her into the bedroom. Once there she stripped her clothes and quickly jumped in the shower.
Don’t forget to shave,
Mandy hollered.
What the hell for?
she yelled back.
It’s going to be a magical night and miss goody-two-shoes might have a lapse in judgement,
Mandy said from the bathroom door.
You’re not funny,
Sarah snapped while getting out of the shower and drying off with the towel Mandy had passed her.
Sarah decided to show her friend the lovely nail varnish on her middle finger, before walking into her bedroom and putting on the corset that went with the glorious ball gown she had chosen last week to wear.
It wasn’t long before Sarah stood in front of her full body mirror, feeling like a princess. Her shiny rainbow coloured gown did seem a little tight at the top, she just hoped she didn’t fall out of it at all. The gold and silver masquerade pendant necklace sat just above her chest. Quite fitting really considering the ball they would be attending tonight. Her hair had been done similar to Mandy’s, only
