    Hank Mueller stared at Mrs. Jones toaster through his dirt specked, wire-rimmed reading glasses perched at the tip of his hawk-like nose. His white bushy eyebrows were arched on his forehead above pale gray eyes. The toaster rested on the counter of his fix-it workshop bench in the reception area at the front of the shop facing the window overlooking the quite street. A gray haired matronly woman stood on the other side of the counter watching him study her toaster in rapt attention, her watery eyes wide with expectation .
