Killings under the moonlight symphony had made Finnvile infamous. It was home to some of the deadliest killers on the loose but it also housed the best detective known for tackling some of the world’s strangest incidents. He would take up cases that others would ignore and shed light on them. Mael, he was called. Silver hair almost fully covers a round, friendly face. Darting deep brown eyes, set appealingly within their sockets.

As I’ve said, there are no real patterns to the moonlight killings save for the symphony that is played when someone disappears, said Mael as he often held a press conference.

Make no mistake, this all but a charade to cover the most basic instinct a human being can possess: the desire to kill and to be heard.

A short crime detective story

Mael is the genius detective who can outthink the criminals. The story has punch, but I wish the author had developed it more.
