About this ebook
Monsieur Pamplemousse finds himself in deep water when an unfortunate collision with a Mother Superior is caught on camera by the French tabloids. To avoid media attention, he is sent to report on chef André Dulac, currently in line for Le Guide's top award of the Golden Stock Pot Lid, and opens a can of worms which threatens the very sanctity of France's premier gastronomic bible.
Being on the verge of haute cuisine takes on a whole new meaning, and his attempt to get at the truth by harnessing a state-of-the-art TV camera to his ever-faithful hound Pommes Frites, ensures that outside broadcasting will never be quite the same again.

Reviews for Monsieur Pamplemousse on Probation
10 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Better known for his Paddington Bear stories,Michael Bond wrote a series of humorous crime books featuring Monsieur Pamplemousse. Monsieur P. used to be an Inspector for the Surete and is now employed by 'Le Guide',a premier food magazine. Due to these two affiliations,he frequently finds himself in situations similar to those found in this book. He attends a live television show in which a famous and much hated TV chef dies in front of his audience and millions of viewers,in somewhat suspicious circumstances. Death by oyster maybe.Pamplemousse, together with his bloodhound Pommes Frites investigate and come across many suspects, including the chef's wife.Very funny and quite racy at times, with lots of foodie references along the way.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great fun! Pamplemousse and his dog Pommes Frites are very entertaining characters.
