Part One: Maid to Serve.

It was Friday afternoon and I tore down the ramp into the basement garage with screaming tyres, in a hurry to quickly park the GTI. I grabbed my laptop case from the backseat, slammed the door and locked the car with the remote control.

Thank God it’s Friday! I thought as I hurried to the elevator. All I wanted right now was a cool drink on the couch and afterwards a nice dinner somewhere in town. And no hassle; the week had been hectic enough.

Last night had not really helped I thought as the elevator smoothly rode up to the highest level of the upscale apartment building. I picked up the mail as I entered the apartment. and was about to walk right into the living room when I glanced aside and froze in my tracks. On the little table next to the front door was a pair of black, elbow length gloves; with a maid’s headdress put symmetrically on top of them.

It suddenly all came back to me and my heart sank.

Last night I had drank much too much. I had been in the Alsace for the past week and had brought back a couple of cases of their ‘Crèmant’, a nice but heady bubbly wine. They claim is better than Champagne but cheaper because they do not overprice their grapes.

We had to try a bottle last night; and then another one. By that time we were in the silly stage and while we had some Remy Martin to wash it down, I had made that stupid bet. She had dared me to beat her at chess, right that night. And to add some spice to the bet, we agreed that, whoever lost the game, should be ‘Maid in Bondage’ for the weekend, self-bondage, to begin with.

Then we had played for an hour.

And I had lost…

I had left this morning before she was awake and had put the thing right out of my mind. It had been a silly and stupid bet anyway, something two piss-arsed drunk people would do. I had forgotten all about it. But
