Introduction
Are you trying to make your own spinner fidget toys? If so, then this book is definitely for you.
In the past year or so spinner fidget toys have gotten extremely popular. It seems there are new Youtube videos popping up every day on the latest spinner design. Professional fabrication companies have even gotten into the fray and are using expensive CNC machines, 3D printers, wax casting, SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), and SLM (Selective Laser Melting). While these professionals produce high quality spinners they do tend to be expensive. Some spinners are selling for hundreds of dollars on Amazon and Ebay. There are also a ton of cheaper made versions of spinner toys that sell for less than $50. The cost of the spinner is mostly determined by the quality of the ball bearings being used and the type of materials used for the body of the spinner.
This book contains 3 projects using different types of materials and a variety of spinner types for the beginner to get started making their own spinner toys. To make it easy we included a resource guide on where to get the materials and design plans for you to start making your own spinners.
You can buy a spinner off Amazon but making your own is a fun activity and you can tell your friends you made it yourself. Some teenagers are even selling their spinners online and making money selling their original designs to friends.
Thanks for downloading this book and we hope you enjoy making your first spinner fidget toy.
Benefits of a spinner fidget toy
Fidget toys aren’t just for kids and teenagers. There are lots of adults buying and using them also. They are a fun activity that can keep your hands busy and replace annoying habits like nail-biting, pen clicking, foot tapping, hair twirling and nose picking. Hang our head in shame no more! The latest studies show that fidget toys may actually help people with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders. It’s believed that fidget toys in general allow the mind to focus on some simple task thereby releasing some of the minds’ tension that builds up throughout the day. For the most part fidget toys are non-intrusive. Fidget spinners can be a quiet distraction and mindless activity that allows the user to concentrate on more important tasks. It’s the ultimate in multitasking. Overall the fidgeting seems to contribute to a calmer and more focused brain.
The trend started years ago with stress balls and other desk toys that are usually picked up by office workers attending trade show conferences. Then Antsy Lab’s Fidget Cube raised over $6.4 million on a Kickstarter campaign and since then the category of toys has skyrocketed. The Fidget Cube is certainly cool but if you want something a bit more sophisticated then spinners are the way to go. A well designed and properly balanced fidget spinner feels really good in your
