About this ebook

So it’s time to Ditch those Diapers for Good!

For most parents the idea of potty training can be a little nerve-wracking, and it is hardly surprising given that even the so-called experts can’t seem to agree on what is the best approach to use, when to do it, or even if you should bother to do it formally at all!

The simple truth is that every child and every parent is different. So, though in essence potty training is pretty universal, the way you do it will need to suit you. Whatever the reason behind your decision to potty train, this little, easy to read book will give you the information you need to get completely ready, feel in control of the process, and know that you can have fun doing it. Potty training can be super simple, and achieved in an amazingly short time. If you follow the approach that suits you best you and your toddler best you will have your baby happy and confident to use the potty within just three days or less!

My research when my own little ones were small threw up countless methods and absolutely everybody I knew suddenly became an instant expert. I won’t lie, I felt completely overwhelmed by all the information, and wished there was a simple book that I could read that would help me to find my way through the maze. So, now my girl or boys are grown up enough for me to sit down for longer than 5 minutes at the PC, here is the book I would have loved to have had available to me when I was where you are now. This books contains the three most common, simple methods to use when potty training, so you can choose the one that suits you and your child best; it spells out how to know when you are both ready; and I’ve even added in a helpful resources guide at the end full of handy videos and books, and will give you the confidence to tackle this potty training in style. Good luck and I really hope you will enjoy the process – I know we did once we found the right method for each of our children!

    Potty Training - Eugene Gitierres

    Introduction

For every parent there comes that time that, let’s be honest, we all dread. You can spot the signs, your child is reaching the age when they need to get ready for pre-school, or they are showing real signs of interest in the toilet and are getting aware of their own body. To put it simply, the time has come to potty train our little one, and we cannot put it off any longer.

    ––––––––

Everyone around us seems to have an opinion and their own tales of how they did it. They all swear that their way is the ultimate way to do it but nobody seems to agree on what works. Even our childless friends have their super hot tips and sure fire way of doing things – so who do you trust? Aunty Sue is telling us that she had all her girl or boys out of diapers and dry by the age of a year; the Super Mum down the street is saying her little one -who is 5 months younger than yours – is already using their potty like a professional every time; or maybe your choice of day care or nursery won’t take your child until they are potty trained.

    ––––––––

Then there are all those lurid tales other parents tell of poop smeared walls, and pee stained cars that never recover and you find yourself cowering in a corner, scared out of your wits to even try! Whatever the reason is behind your deciding that you feel the time is right to take that big step, to get your gorgeous little toddler out of diapers and to become a Big Girl or Big Boy, this book will help you to decide what method will work best for you, and I really hope will reassure you that this potty training stuff is not as hard as some people make it out to be.

    ––––––––

In this book, I am going to show you 3 slightly different methods, which I believe will suit most parents and most children as they go through this often stressful task. Bearing in mind that every child is different it is foolish to think that there could possibly be a one size fits all solution to this – so I am giving you the chance to make an informed decision – after all you know your toddler and yourself far better than anyone else ever will. Each of these methods will have your little munchkin able to successfully use the potty in three days, and be competent using either a potty or the toilet the vast majority of the time with confidence in just 7 days.

    ––––––––

I am going to help you to make it easy on yourself, so you waste less time working out what you need, and reading hundreds of books to choose what works best for you (I’ve done that bit for you!), so you and your gorgeous child can just get on with practicing your little one’s new skills. Each method I have included here will have your child confidently using their potty within just three days, and the big toilet without fear within seven. I will show you the signs you need to look for to be certain that your toddler really is ready for this and those you need to look for in yourself to make sure that you are too! But most importantly, the methods, hints, tips and personal experiences I will detail here will give you hope, and give you options. There is no one size fits all method, but by giving you the choice of the key methods which seem to have the highest success rates, I am certain one of these methods will fit you and your little one’s needs

    ––––––––

As a parent myself I have successfully potty trained a boy and 2 girls, and have done the headless chicken run-around getting hints and tips from everyone I knew, and consulted the books, DVD’s and websites of endless experts for all their favorite methods and tips to make sure that you do not make the mistakes that some parents do – and I certainly did. I have also read more books and watched more videos on this subject than any human being should ever have to researching this book – some really definitely are a complete waste of anybody’s time! Each of my children was a little bit different, and so each suited a different method, and that is one of the key things I want to stress – it is about finding the right method not for your Nan, or your best friend – but for the two of you. If one sounds ‘right’ to you then that is probably the one that will work best for you and your child.

    ––––––––

Mums, Dads and child care workers can all benefit from this handy, easy to read guide. All three methods work, all three will have your child comfortable getting on the potty or toilet, and using it within just three days, get them using it successfully the vast majority of the time within just one week – simply choose the one that suits you best, set your dates and give it a go. You will find it easier and more fun than you ever thought possible and you will have a happy, dry child faster than you ever imagined.

    ––––––––

Carlie was just 21mths old when her Mummy and Daddy felt she was showing all the signs and signals of being ready to start. They decided to use the first method detailed in this book – The Intensive. This is an approach with very set rules that need to be followed exactly as it is laid out in this book. It is brilliantly effective, and really appeals to parents who love a real step by step approach, and children who deal well with a highly organized regime. She had a few accidents on the first few days, but by the end of three days she could make it to the potty safely on her own, and within 7 days was using the real toilet with
