To the sensual pleasure of the difference in genders and in races

If you take this hard line, you’ll antagonize them, I said not for the first time. Loren put his hand on my knee under the table. It sent a jolt of desire through me edging the anger away slightly.

We were married ten days previously after being lovers for two days. He thrilled me as a lover and as my mate. If all the people weren’t in the conference room, I would let him throw me on the table and make love to me.

When you deal with warring races, you have to take a strong stance, Ambassador Tarik said. I’ve dealt with warring races for twenty years. I know how to handle them.

Drayin and Flarek are not warring races, I said. They get along fine as long as there aren’t too many men.

We’ve heard this all before, Ambassador Tarik growled at me. As the ranking Ambassador, I will decide the best course of action.

I wanted to say more, as did the women around me. Elan said, You must concede we know more about these races, otherwise why bring us along?

There were other reasons for bringing you, Ambassador Tarik said.

    Meaning what, Liset asked.

It’s obvious, I said. We’re along because they hope one of us will stop the conflicts like I did last time.

For sex, Liset said. The other women around the table watched the Ambassador closely.

If one of you having sex with a dozen of them will stop the conflict, it’s worth it, Ambassador Tarik said.

I am not willing to be a pawn in this way, Liset said angrily. You’re going to rile them up to a frenzy of violence and expect us to settle them down by spreading our legs. Your strategy is barbaric.

    Is this true, Captain
