About this ebook

Hide or Seek: End at the Beginning

If there is any beauty in the world, it is found, I believe, in its symmetry

Balance, even amid our petty differences, gives rise to concepts that are dualities, things that we wouldn’t even consider to be parallel to one another.

Mercy and Justice. Right and Wrong.  Even Love and Hate are on a continuum, where the heights of one counter somehow the depths of the other.

If you, like me, see the world through a doctrine of fairness and equanimity, then this is the book for you. If you believe that the greatest failures can lead to unflagging greatness, this book is for you too. Even if all you are looking for is an easy read with a compelling story, this volume, this tale of a rise – and a fall - has you covered.

The story has all the markings of a great read:

·         Two lifelong friends, embarking on the journey of a lifetime, following their own courses, yet driven along by similar circumstances.

·         The details of location that draw you right into their world, share with you  sights, smells, and the emotions that rise from the street like the early-evening mist

·         An emotional roller coaster, as the fate of each lies in the balance.

Once you find yourself immersed in their world, you’ll understand the pressures that life brings to bear, and the difficult choices we make alter our possible futures. Who can withstand a destiny of destruction? Who will bear up under the burdens of obligation, and who will persevere despite the hardships and the compulsions of culture?

Don’t wait another minute. Follow  Jensen and Koble, and learn what it is to be a friend.

    Chapter One:  The Alley Incident

Uncle Beazly was a tomcat. A very wild, very unfriendly and somewhat mangy animal that frequented the alleys around the neighborhood.  Evan, and the bully down the Street, Gary, used to do their best to torment that animal, hoping to drive it away. Because despite all their problems, they both hated that animal worst of all.

The particular day it happened was a Tuesday. Definitely.

Spelling had been a cinch that day, and that was how Evan remembered what day it was. Three thirty had come quicker that day, probably because the semester  was almost over, and the summer was going to be AWESOME. He was new to the school, and making friends had always been easy for Evan. Probably partly because he was so outgoing, but also because he was so used to the role. Being the ‘new kid’ meant he got to tell his story again. He had two sisters, both younger, and a mom and a dad. Dad was a salesman, right now selling Vacuum Cleaners. Mom was studying to get her insurance license again – she’d had one before, back in Kansas, but the laws and rules about insurance were different here in Arizona. Yeah, they had algebra in Kansas. No, he did not know how to disco dance. So many questions, and it
