It was an ordinary day in the rooms of 221b Baker Street and after much grumbling and protestation from myself, Mister Sherlock Holmes had finally decided to take a holiday to the country, leaving only myself to field any case enquiries in his stead. The morning had progressed most serenely until Mrs Hudson knocked on the door, interrupting what had been up until then, an otherwise perfect day.

Ah. Doctor Watson, it's yourself. Is Mister Holmes in please? she asked me.

Sorry Mrs Hudson, I'm afraid Holmes has taken a rare and long overdue holiday. He's away in the country, I said.

Are you expecting him back soon? she asked.

I'm afraid not, he said he would be away for at least the next fortnight. Is there anything I may be of assistance with? I asked.
