About this ebook
Rosie is sure her boyfriend is going to pop the big question tonight. Valentine's Day is perfect for proposals. Right? When he dumps her instead, she's surprised to find she's not upset. In fact, she's downright happy. All she wants to do is run home to her best friend and share the good news.
Scott cannot believe Rosie, his roommate and best friend, is willing to settle for a man who is just "Mr. Okay" instead of holding out for "Mr. Wonderful". Rosie deserves better. She deserves to find a man who will cherish her. She deserves a man who is her true soul mate and willing to take care of her until the end of time.
And that man is Scott.

W owza, Rosie.
My best friend, Scotty, whistles. His eyes twinkle as they gaze lazily up and down my body, making my insides heat. You’re always beautiful, but tonight you’ve outdone yourself.
Thank you.
I curtsy as low as my skin-tight dress will allow. I have no clue why, but Scotty’s approval is always important to me. When he gives me two thumbs up, it sends my heart soaring.
Seems like a total waste to look like that hot for Phil the Fool. He’s too busy admiring his own looks to appreciate how beautiful you are. Has the man ever walked past a mirror he didn’t stop in front of?
He takes pride in his looks and there’s nothing wrong with that.
At least that’s what I tell myself over and over.
Why would anyone stare at their own reflection when they have you to feast their eyes on?
Scotty’s gaze makes another swipe across my body.
Don’t be silly.
I grab the lip gloss from my purse and run it over my lips. And quit looking at me like I’m the last woman on Earth.
I’d never admit this to Scotty, but Phil does have an annoying tendency to spend a bit too much time marveling at his own good looks. He never goes anywhere without ensuring every hair on his head is in place, his shoes are shiny, and every inch of his clothing is free of wrinkles. I know women who are obsessed with their clothes, but no one’s vanity matches Phil’s. He’s such a fashionista he’s turned one of the extra bedrooms in his house into a closet. The whole damned room!
You’re wearing it?
Scotty casually asks as he lightly touches the necklace he gave me on my last birthday. I wear it every day.
Don’t I always? It’s my good luck necklace.
His fingers skim over the sensitive skin of my neck, making my pulse race.
I like seeing it around your neck, but I’m surprised your boyfriend lets you wear something another man gave you.
He’s not the jealous type. Besides, he knows we’re best friends.
The truth is, Phil has probably never noticed the necklace. He’s always too preoccupied with other things—like himself—to pay much notice to what I wear or don’t wear.
He should be jealous. Any man would love a chance to be with you. Phil better start paying attention before someone steals you away from him.
He says jealousy is an emotion of insecure people. Which he is not.
No shit,
he spits out with a laugh. He’s the least insecure person I’ve ever met. And I’ve gotta tell you, I’ve met a lot of people in my life.
You just don’t get Phil.
I’m not sure I’ve even figured him out. "If you’d spend a bit of time talking with him, I know you’d like
