    Chapter 2 - MIRANDA

    CHAPTER II

    MIRANDA

    Hello, my name is Miranda.

I must confess, Miranda! It's a funny first name.

All the little girls of my age and my little village are called,

'' Berthe, Alphonsine, Charlotte, Philaé, Juliette, and many are called Marie ''

Mary! Who is the name of the holy virgin, of course!

    But I ! It's Miranda.

My father chose this name because in the name of Miranda there is the word Mire! Like the myrrh brought by one of the Magi to Jesus and he also added the word Anda.

For my father told me that when he was a child his father was very much a believer.

As a matter of fact ! Like all people of that time!

But I was saying, his father to him my grandfather to me! He had taken him on pilgrimage to Spain and on the roads to Santiago de Compostela.

On the way they had crossed Andalusia, where they found myrrh.

You do not know what myrrh is?

Myrrh is a kind of healing and miraculous plant too! Because it avoids infections and heals wounds.

My father and my grandfather used it to put on their feet and they had infected themselves! Infections! That was due to the long walk of the road and which led to Santiago de Compostela.

My father remembered this beautiful region and this beautiful plant, and also the day of my birth! He added to my name, the beginning of Andalusia, that is to say, Anda!

That's why my name is Miranda! Still one of my father's wacky ideas, but wacky ideas to that she, I've got used to now.

At the time in my name, besides, these strange and bizarre ideas! But my father's ideas are always so great and unexpected.

It must also be said and true? That for an Alsatian, Miranda, that does not really happen! But
