    Dedication

To all the Christmas Elves out there... you know who you are... and should be proud of the fact you help people every day. You spread your cheer throughout the year, letting us all know what is important in life. When some of us need items for just living, you come through spectacularly. Yes, that is what all those little grassroots charities do.

All the critique partners, past and present... you guys are and were great.

And as always to the boys; Gordon, Tom, Kyle and grandsons Joseph and Michael... you’re the best. I could never forget you girls, who are very special to me, Kim and Bianca, thank you for just being you.

    Forward

I know it’s been a long time since I visited my world of Santa’s Elves. I’ve received several requests about finishing out this series and I do promise I’ve started to write the last story about the Locklin siblings. There’s another short or two in the works as well. Then there will be the grandchildren... but... I get ahead of myself.

When the call went out for Christmas stories, Santa himself reminded me I hadn’t written about him or his elves in a long, long time. Just as he reminded me of my lack of attention, this story came to me like it was the old comfy sweater you take out of the closet when it gets cold. This is a fantasy world I’m very familiar with and when they tell me there’s a problem it’s left to me to respond and fix it all up.

Since some of you have never been to my Santa’s Elves world, here’s a recap, enabling you to read this story as a stand-alone. However, when you read all of the stories, you will understand the nuances I’ve woven into this wonderful world.

The Locklin family consists of Bevan and Janice Locklin who met and fell in love despite the odds of him being an elf and she a human. While their meeting might have been accidental, the Hall of Elven Elders, those elves who choose to live beyond this world, knew they would fall in love and have children. Each child is very different yet strong
