      How the house got so disastrously messy in the measly span of four hours that Katherine was at college, she had no idea. She surveyed the living room where dirty dishes and glasses now littered the coffee table and floor with dismay. The yogurt splattered under the flatscreen on the wall said ‘Giselle’ all over; she’d probably lost her temper at something on her fave reality show, Hot Mistresses in Miami.

      Sighing, Katherine walked through the normally pristine living room to the large, almost professional kitchen and groaned, running a hand through her long dark hair. Irritation flashed over her as she took in the stove practically covered in batter and the detritus of eggshells, flour bags, milk spills, and flax seeds. It looked like Sasha was being more persistent than usual in her I want to be a celebrity chef! phase.

      Of course, you’d have to be a celebrity first, Katherine thought meanly.

      Katherine gritted her teeth and continued through the kitchen to the hall that led to the stairs going down to her bedroom. Cleaning could wait.
