About this ebook

Tanya is ready to finally marry her Mr. Right. But there's one giant problem: Her groom is missing.

Star footballer Tanner Wilson is the best man waiting to say "I don't" at the right time. Now, he doesn't need to speak up.

He soon finds out he is not the only man opposed to the wedding. Thrill-seeking adventure guide Derek has held a torch for Tanya for years and he isn't going to give up easily.

"What do I do now?"

The shock wore off with devastating unwillingness and all that was left was this big gaping emptiness.

"It's not too late to order a hit on him," Tanner said a-matter-of-factly and I wondered if he was completely serious.

I shook my head nevertheless. A small smile tugged up the corner of my mouth. "Thanks but I think ruining his face is enough for now," I said.

"Between you and me, I think your punch was harder," Derek joked and Tanner punched his arm lightly. "Oy!"

We were sitting together in where the post-wedding party was supposed to be held. I had booked out an entire park for a good five hours. I sent the catered food to the orphanage and old folks home, since it was too late to cancel them now, but the venue was still ready.

Beautifully decorated tables and chairs laid empty across the vast green background. There weren't many blooming flowers so the decorator made do with fake flowers. They looked too vibrant and bright to fit in. I had sent the decorator home already.

"This feels like a dream," I murmured.

"Not a nightmare?" Derek joked. Tanner sent him a glare that could melt glaciers.

"Oddly enough, no," I said with half a smile. "It feels somewhat liberating, actually," I murmured.

"Marrying him would've been a mistake," Derek said.

All of a sudden he was too big, too intense, and the temper that he had exhibited made him that much more attractive. I had been dating Jason for my entire adult life, I had never contemplated being with another man before but now that it was possible to date other men, I found myself seeing Derek in an entirely new light.

It was surreal.

"Why are you still single?" I blurted.

As soon as I said, I wanted to take the words back.

The expression on his face was undeniable.

"No," I sighed. "I can't-"

"Can't what?" Derek asked.

I looked at him, an apology on my lips.

But the words died as a shudder rolled through me.

In a rush, I found myself pressed up against him, one big hand pressed up against my spine while the other sought my neck and pulled my face to him.
