About this ebook
At the end of a rope with nowhere left to turn, DEAD END: A COLLECTION OF SHORT-LIVED STORIES takes a look at what plays out inside the minds of those with nothing to lose and everything to gain. This collection of seven stories has it all from horrific scenes and the paranormal to laughter and tears.
In the first story, "The Demons Within," Jasper is on his way to work when he discovers an unwanted passenger in his car and the ensuing struggle threatens to claim his life.
After a fruitless search, Mr. Wells finally negotiates a contract with the crew of The Relic to investigate the mysterious wreck that no other seafaring fisherman or treasure hunter will go near at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in "Treasure at Journey's End."
In "Chasing the Bunny," Martha finally gets to sit down and speak with her son, Jimmy, and their shocking conversation impacts her life in a way she never expected.
"Reflections: Mirror, Mirror" - Dylan Cunningham, a decorated police officer and war hero, has always been able to handle himself. On one dark, rainy night Dylan must face his greatest adversary--the reflection in the mirror.
A dozen identities and police protection hasn't stopped the mysterious packages with body parts inside from arriving on his doorstep until the newest package explains it all in "Special Delivery."
"The Kidde Escape Ladder" follows three teenage boys as they sneak out on an adventure across the city. They intended to be the only three boys at an all girls slumber party but a mystery in the woods sends them running for their lives.
According to the news, people are going missing all over the city and now Deklan's girlfriend is among them. Fearing the worst, Deklan and his two friends set out to find the girl but instead the teens find themselves in serious trouble as their paths cross with the police and mysterious hooded figures carrying torches in "Blood Sacrifice."

Jasper tossed his bag on the empty bench in the backseat of his car and shut the door. The night was as black as his car. The air smelled like rain and there was a rumble of thunder overhead. He opened the driver’s door and slid inside.
Ready for another day ol’ girl,
he asked as he stroked the dash.
Another day of disappointment you mean,
a voice said from the backseat.
Jasper adjusted the rearview mirror. Not now McCoy.
Jasper put the key into the ignition. He smiled as the engine roared to life.
