    CHAPTER 1

    He was standing in a crowded Chinese train with his right hand strongly clinching an upright. The train was heading up north China with little space for him to place his foot. Looking at the electronic disc board on the metro, the train was running at a speed of One hundred and forty kilometers per hour.

    Out of weariness, hunger and sleepless night, Mr. Jean (a foreign Oral English teacher) kept nodding off as the train continued on its bumpy-rocking mission to a destination that will take almost a day.

    After about five hours, he was awakened by the noise of other passengers trying to board the train. They were as noisy as a herd of elephant.

    Ni hao he greeted a boy. What’s the name of this station he asked.

    Ting bu dong the boy replied in a hurry (which means ‘I don’t understand).
