"I love writing into the dark; like to be surprised by the characters scavenging through my own stories. Just before things are getting familiar; when I think, or at least believe, to know where a new story is going to, I give it a twist and make my readers (and myself) wonder... how the hell is this going to end?"WORDS and VISIONEduard Meinema is writer and visual artist. He writes in an exciting and humorous style. Creates intense, passionate and mysterious stories filled with unexpected twists which will seduce anyone to finish reading at full speed. About the Author
Chapter 1
Damned recruiters. Chance of a lifetime they said. Be the next great explorer; a regular Columbus. The new Cook. Who wasn’t willing to go? Earth was not the best place to live by a long time. Rents were high; food was bad and morals deplorable. Go wide young man, the government stated. Go into the wide-open space; explore the universe.
Marketing; that’s what it was. Ordinary marketing to persuade young people to sign in on the new established space programme. Of course you would have all the time in the world to study. All the time in the universe actually. Not much else to do during the journey of seventeen years. Go wide. Sure; plenty of room in the never ending continuum called universe. Yet, nobody knew where to go. Go wide? Go where?
You will even meet the love of your life
they promised. A highly skilled, specialized team of professionals had used all available scientific knowledge and refined techniques to make the perfect match for all of the twenty-one crew-members. The unequal number was chosen on purpose. Soon the ever growing distance between Earth Command and the space vessel would become problematic for regular communication. Situations in which any delay in communication could be fatal were expected and were certainly going to happen. For nobody knew what was waiting out there in the wide open space. But everyone knew disastrous situations in which quick communication would be necessary would occur. Mister Murphy was the first one to pack his bag and travel along with humanity into the ever expanding universe. Quick decisions were going to be necessary. Unpopular life saving decisions for which fifty-fifty deals were non negotiable. An uneven number of crew members was not the best choice. It was the least worse.
Well; relations did flourish, but not the ones the scientists had foreseen. Only two people expected to fall
