    CHAPTER 1

It’s Friday night in the city that never sleeps, New York. It’s hot, muggy and humidity is high. Tempers were short fused this night and people couldn’t help to be irritated by the heat; the lunar rays of a full moon added a craze to some people’s personality. The summer heat brought stragglers and people from the block of Gates Avenue outdoors. Those that could not afford the luxury of air conditioning sat outside on tenement stoops. Others stood up against iron gates that surrounded some buildings like a fortress gate. Some drank cold beer from a corner store to relieve themselves from the intense heat. Loud music blasted from boom boxes, keeping some people’s spirits high. Sweat poured off some as if they were in a sauna.

There was a crash of broken glass. Two large bottles of beer dropped from a heat aggravated person that was bumped, elbow-to-elbow, by another individual.

Damn. Why the fuck don’t you look where you’re going? Dorian yelled.

You want beef? Anthony Harris yelled over the blasting music.

Dorian Rae, was around 5’8", average height, light skin, with a healthy oval shaped face and thick arched eyebrows. Dorian has a good sense of humor, however his tolerance for nonsense is short, especially on a night like this.

"You act like you have problem with me," Anthony said.

Yeah, I’ve got a problem. You owe me for this fucking beer you broke, Dorian yelled.

Anthony Harris was light skin with thick braided hair. He’s of average build and around 5’9". Anthony bares a tattoo with his name on the side of his neck. Anthony has been known to have been in and out of trouble. He’s known as a corrupt individual. Anthony and Dorian have been friends for years, but the heat can cause things to explode.

I don’t owe you shit! Anthony yelled.

    Dorian
